If they made the cutscene optional, players will kick the newcomers, just so they can finish the dungeon faster. We all know that this will happen.

Maybe not that low, but certainly lower than it currently is. The fights have no impact at all.
It's not that far off the original clearly intended answer of "I fight for Eorzea" – you're just putting the lost dialogue back in.
I don't remember whether your character still silent-talks or if they just glare now. The talking animation should still be in there so it makes sense that you answer even if it isn't heard.
There was never a point where the cutscenes were actually optional or not according to the presence of a new player. People just wouldn't wait for the person watching cutscenes, and might kick them hoping for a new eighth player who would participate in battle instead of watching cutscenes so they could go even faster. But plenty of people just ignored the newbie and left them to stumble lost through corridors already cleared of enemies – or still populated by them depending on your DC's approach to the dungeon.
It's like this now because people wouldn't wait for new players generally, not specifically because they got kicked.
I don't think the game has the ability to offer optional cutscenes or not according to party status. You can see it's been changed in the Unending Journey cutscene viewer too, so I think they've just set the text to auto-scrolling and turned on a "cannot be skipped" setting like you get in the treasure map dungeons and a few other places.
Yea I should have worded my answer better my bad, I mostly was referring to people got kicked back in HW (I think? dunno when I started playing anymore) But basically if they change how it works again they would nerf exp wich made the Roulettes rather useless xp wise similair to 50/60/70 rouletteThere was never a point where the cutscenes were actually optional or not according to the presence of a new player. Now your character just looks slightly puzzled and doesn't answer. Not the "tilted head in confusion" emote, just a raised eyebrow. It's not that far off the original clearly intended answer of "I fight for Eorzea" – you're just putting the lost dialogue back in.

what does this even mean? new players are unable to ask questions in the 12 dungeons they ran previously? They're unable to ask questions on the forums or anywhere else on the internet?no.
its one of the few places new people can actually ask questions if they have them. instead of running through as fast as possible, you get to talk to other players. thats kind of the point of mmo's after all. you can chat with people and avoid limsa, win win in my books
Heaven Forbid an experienced player actually help a sprout while going through a cutscene, or worse, explaining part of the story
So Prae and Castrum are the first places they can actually chat with other players?
if you're not a new player, why are you suffering through these dungeons
