for a year, would you rather be secretly filmed at random moments and have the footage uploaded to your social media or loose $100 when ever you said a curse word?
Oh I know, I saw who it was from. Just thought it was amusing. And yeah, my frustration can boil over a bit at times. It was probably an appropriate tag.I should probably walk away from the forums for a bit but part of me feels like that would be admitting defeat.

Yeah... There's a time where I just go "I don't even really care but... I can't stop."
Seriously though, take a small break for a few days to a week. Sit back, relax, play some games you enjoy. Come back to the dumpster fire with a fresh face.
(I should take this advice myself LMAO)
just wait until next month then ill be back to my normal self

It is actually very fair to assume that.
The alternative is that the rule enforcement system is corrupt, and no community can survive long with that kind of idea.
That seems to be more of a problem with your interpretation of the rules rather than the enforcement of the rules as interpreted by SE.A simple use of a curse word in banter with friends, is a potential hit for "profanity", if reported (yeah yeah, "filter isn't there to allow players to freely curse!" - read it all before). Even "compelling a playstyle", is supposedly ground for a ban, as in telling another player to use AOE instead of "asking".
Exactly. So people can also learn to follow the ToS. They can then drive/chat within those rules.Or people can learn the rules of the road, and drive the speed limit.
The inconsistency is likely not in the enforcement, but in reporting. You can say something really bad among people that won't report you and get away with it, then say something still bad but not as bad among people that will report you and have to face the consequence.
Either way, people who claim that there are toxic elements in the community should always report them when they encounter them. That is the only way to have a chance at getting the rules enforced, the same thing for RMT and other prohibited activities.
Yall ruined the 69 pages!
I have yet to play any game where the rule enforcement system wasn't corrupt, including this one. Communities in them continued to survive.
To be fair, due to the rules the GMs follow nobody knows the evidence they use to sentence a player; due to the same rules, nobody even knows without speculation what event spurred the action being taken. Due to the above I doubt we'll ever have that level of verification but we do know gms have access to it, we just dunno how thorough they are about using this resource.I really have yet to see anything other than paranoia or hearsay that verifies the "GM's will go through your logs till they find something to catch you on" thing.
Like I can appreciate you're trying to give advice to new people you think is helpful and will keep them out of trouble but it paints the whole game in an oppressive light that just isn't there.
Personally speaking I say hi and, if a run gets significantly borked, (something like a dc or a kick or a leaving person that leaves us unable to prog a dungeon) I shoot the breeze with the party cordially enough. Though that's more due to the speed of dungeons than anything else.
