Even if female Hroth is based on femroes they're not going to be a literal femroe with a lion head glued over, let alone a male Roe. Treating Hrothgals as if they were dead on arrival only because it's likely based on "the ugly duckling" instead of the 6th conventionally beautiful body is disingenuous imo.

Everyone's always hung on Hroths being just reskinned Roes while conveniently ignoring Viera are just Elezen with better posture, and would you look at that, they're both more popular than the race they "copied"

But FemRoe are way less played than FemElezen. To reskin FemRoe is to fail like FemRoe.

Wildwood/Duskwight combined are played quite a bit more than Seawolf/Hellsguard. Furthermore, the biggest issue with FemRoe is the body shape. This is cited time and time again as the primary reason people do not play them. Elezen does not have this issue.

Except it is. Fem Elezen having a "bad body" with their broad shoulders, slender hips, and tiny head are brought up as often if not more than their animations. They just have the power of Elf behind them.

For when they come out ... ehh, I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything. It's a very personal choice in where you set your expectations, I've been playing detective throughout ShB, so I feel comfy going with my gut/ deductions.

Here's the thing, understanding WHY Femroe are the least played anything in this game tells you want you need to know. All non-Lala females are made from the middie base and as such they don't look too different over all. So, addressing the reason people don't like Femroe bod (Masculine shape and traits) would naturally result in something that looks more like Viera or taller Highlanders. Which is exactly what we see in the Unique Femroe Queen bod and mural, BTW, which is why I think that's the shape they will have.

The devs wanted to make the Males a member of the "power" builds, and listed Roebros and Highlander males in that. They can see that Roebros weren't liked because they look like Anthropomorphic barrels with Gorilla limbs. So they didn't lean into that. They didn't make Hrothgar males look like fat anthropomorphic balls, they made them look like more attractive males shapes. Boom, Roebros stay the tallest and buffest as that's their "thing" and the game gets a more conventionally attractive male shape for the Hrothgar.

So yeah, wanting the females for this furry race (a niche) to lean into the core reason Femroe are bottom of the barrel (buff, masculine shape and traits) is wanting them DOA, and any attempt at making a more feminine Femroe is legit just going to look like something between a Viera and Highlander. We've already seen that the devs can easily see the core trait of a race NOT being connected to their body size with Draggos, so there's no reason for them to look roided just cause the males are hypermasculine shaped.

I have ... no idea why FemElezen vs FemRoe is coming up but FemElezen are considered rare yet still, last I checked, they are easily twice as played as FemRoe for active character data. So I wouldn't call that "Not by much" in any world. As for things people say about elezen, anecdotally I've only ever heard people complain about their proportions (head size, neck) and animations. Nothing about their general bod (which for females is so identical to Viera that I have to go off poses to know if of mascot headed Viera is a FemElezen or not.)

Aren't female Roegadyn unpopular mainly because of their face options? Its been years, but I'm pretty sure that was the most common complaint I heard about them. That and their animations/emotes not being something you'd expect. Also RoeBros look the way they do because they're based on the Galka in FFXI (minus the tail, which made them adorable). Blame the 1.0 team for that .-.

Female Ronso/Hrothgar are already shown in the x games. There is no point in genderlocking them.

The reason I made this thread is to ask for those that believe in female Ronso/Hrothgar as a playable race. I believe that both gender locks should equally be removed.

In X they weren't Hrothgar, they were Ronso and Ronso specifically.
