Hi!
I am Venkah Fhey, a WHAM and weaver miqo'te settled in New Gridania [Phoenix].
I love being a healer and keep you all alive, although that usually means to be more focused in your HP bars that in the other thing on screen
I started playing less than 2 months ago and not the amount of time I would have played if I had arrived to Eorzea a decade ago... But I enjoy every minute I am there.
The point of the title of this thread is to remark something I have found in this game that is different to the ones I played years ago, when I was younger: lack of communication.
Back in the days, I had to talk to a lot of players and now I find it difficult.
I could be people nowadays want to do things faster and don't find time to stop and enjoy the fact of being in an online game with other players or maybe it is because the chat is a little chaotic sometimes and I am sure once or twice I didn't notice someone was talking to me.
I thought duties would be a good moment to meet the other members in my party. I like to know them, keep their names and sth to help better in duties. For example, if I know you are newer, even than me, or you are playing under some kind of pressure, I will take a better look on you; if you are an experienced player that alman apple cake, ost can heal himself at the same time makes a 500 hit and cooks an apple pie, I will attack our enemies more times than usually.
But the truth is that, as soon as the cinematic ends, I find myself having to run trying to reach the tank or, even worse, a DPS, already hitting a monster.
When duties end, is the same. I am always the last one to exit, I don't care what is in the chest and I get the leftovers, but only once a player has stay with me and it was the time I got the best advices in the game. It was refreshing reading my name and having a small chat, I appreciated that because it was the first time I feel I was in an online multiplayer game.
Maybe FFXIV should have some quests qhere you have to talk to other players or improve the chat to make it easier and more noticeable between all those system and ingame messages... Or maybe I am missing sth and do not how to do it myself.
Well, sometimes it is hard to find me, due to my timetable, but if you see this miqo'te wandering, do not hesitate to get mi atention... Unless I am on my unicorn, then I only see the wind in my eyes... And the bugs in my mouth xD
See you in Eorzea!
