Have you ever been kicked for not having "good enough" gear?

Never been kicked for this but I'm sure it does happen. People can be petty.

No, but I’ve been told before I had bad gear (while tank). First time it was because I didn’t know you needed to have every item slot equipped. I think I was missing a belt and a helmet. It was early ARR. Second time was when I just forgot to update recommended gear, cause I got tired of doing it from being constantly given new gear while doing the msq... Eh.

My point being, you’ll encounter a lot of petty people who will not like the way you play or will take offense in the things you do or don’t do and should or shouldn’t do. I wouldn’t dwell too much on it, although do take patiently given advice from nice players into consideration.

I feel like I have been kicked, I've played a long time. But I don't remember any particular time it's happened.

I've removed myself from groups out of pure embarrassment, though!

I will not kick someone for bad gear if they are putting in at least some effort.

But I will kick someone in bis gear that is not doing their rotation, not bothering to aoe packs, refusing to dps as a healer or if they are a tank, only pulling 1 pack at a time while the healer is dpsing. All of these are much worse for a run than someone with subpar gear (within reason of course) at least doing the basics of their job. And I will do it without a word since if you do say something, even in the kindest and most helpful way possible, you are opening yourself up to a temp ban.

I don't know about gear, but I've pointed to the exit and said "there's the door" to a level 50 thm before. He actually left before we kicked him too, which is the best part.

Hopefully he picked up his jobstone on the way out.

I ASKED to be kicked once, because my gear was so bad that I couldn't tank.

Apparently the game picked the highest ilvl items, and not the TANK items... and I'd not noticed, and I'd been coasting along a while using DPS gear on a tank....

I remember kicking an undergeared Conjurer(!) once in Aurum Vale once after we wiped twice before the first boss.

Would kick again, 10/10.

Surely lvl 70 dungeons are gonna become dead content next month. I could understand it as an excuse for DR/Dalri/CLL, but dungeons...come on.

I can't say I've been in many parties when anyone was kicked, even people underperforming in Savage I think I've only seen it... twice? In my experience normally if someone has a problem they just peace out.

I tanked AV with a THM buddy with no jobstone for memes. Our healer was complaining sad part was my buddy was doing more damage then the dragoon.

The joys healer was not happy tried to kick but was chain pulling until the first boss then never rolled on loot. Healer did spend the entire run complaining but never said anything in regards to the poor performance of the DRG.
