Nope!
But I've been kicked once coz the people I got matched with disliked me jumping while tanking!
That was back in very early Shbs tho.

And here I was wondering if I should get my fresh lv 80 tank alt the whole 510 crafted gear or start unlocking stuff and progressively gear up "organically" .....*sighs and walks to the market board*
(And by that I mean queue for The Twinning in 430 gear, not going straight for Ruby weapon and such, I'm not an idiot)

I got kicked from the 2nd dungeon in the game when I went in as a Conjurer when I was leveling that because my gear was not good enough lol
Unfortunately for sprouts currently Hells Lid is populated by a very large amount of end game characters obsessed with glamours most of us would consider sub par but we want them anyways.
I think the problem is that people are spamming Hell's Lid for the relic so they wanna go super fast, rather than just a normal experience. But at that point it's weird that they're queueing for it rather than making the usual PF for chain-spam.
Personally, I've never been kicked and I'd never kick over gear unless super undergeared. I'd kick people who don't pull their weight, but that's more to do with playing your class decently.

I don't understand why people are farming Hell's Lid. I would rather farm Skalla, Swallow's Compass or any of the ones that come after if I was doing that.
It's apparently the fastest. Myself, I did some Compass and some Ghymlit, both for glams, but mostly I do DR since the previous step is just there and takes much longer, and I also do Dalriada pretty often so...only did dungeons for the first weapon, as I wanted it asap.
No, but that's because I tend to keep up with gearing as I actually like to do the contents in this game that happen to also reward direct gear upgrades and/or tomestones. There was one or two occasions in the past 4 years where someone questioned my gear and I've simply explained to them that I was in the process of gearing and I've had no problem with those incidents.
If I'm leveling a new job and don't have the gears for it, I start with cheap vendor gears and just work my way via the highest leveling dungeons I can that will drop gears for me. Level cap dungeons are trickier as they don't have guaranteed drops, but by then, tomestone gears will take over.
I don't like buying crafted gears as they're not necessary for the contents I do, so I'd rather spend gil on glamour/mount/minion/etc, not as gear for stats.
So let me get this right? People farming relics are fine with a multi month grind... but 5 more minutes in a dungeon is too much..?

It's more that ilvl as a way to guage gear is bad, and it should be weighted, and you can get people really, REALLY undergeared.
Though, the only time I've ever kicked someone for a gear issues was way back in heavensward, in the library, when I ended up tanking on DRG because the tanks gear broke and he couldn't hold hate and had less hp than me, and he didn't have crafters leveled to repair. And we didn't even kick him, he dropped out.
Now, the tank who replaced him wasn't any better, and his gear was fine... But... It happens sometimes...
I usually just see people's gear, sigh internally, and truck on.
