Can we please see more engagement and activity from our community representatives?

Well, for what it's worth my thoughts haven't really changed in regards to what I wrote in my original post.

There's a certain irony, I suppose, in my example of the Black Fat Chocobo mount being unavailable to European players given that a second promotional mount has since been made available primarily in the Japanese and North American regions.

We've also seen direct engagement between whoever runs the official FFXIV Twitter account and various 'content creators'. Yet a significant number of players post here, not on Twitter - and so I feel it is only fair that there is direct engagement here as well.

For example, whenever a new Tweet with a link to an interview or a promotional screenshot is put out there over on Twitter then perhaps the same could be done over here as well?

I would love to see a media thread, even if they lock it such that only they can use it- just a location where they link to each media updates (dev diary / blog, etc) and media outlet they engage with (to an informational level at least, interviews, events, etc). Add link to the other language's forums, if one wanted to see the list of Japanese, French, German, etc interactions.

The English forums are mostly ignored for a lot of reasons. Not the least of which is that SE is a Japanese company with the majority of its staff and development team in Japan. Their main market is Japan. I doubt the staff writ large is fluent enough to really read these very well.

To wit, Poe's law is very much in effect here. This place is filled with some uh, personalities. To the non English speaker determining sifting between the trolls and the counter trolls, the TitanMen alts, the flower children with ~*Opinions*~. I don't know how well our sarcasm translates but I can't imagine its great. The American culture of free speech causes a lot of people to just say words in any order they want without really thinking about it.

Also if you look at the Japanese forums they appear a bit more organized. The titles are relevant to the topic more often. Rather than make a new umpteenth thread about blue mage people will just like or comment on an existing one. Which is what I suspect they look at the most; anything with a lot of likes or comments bubbles up to the top of some list. 1 thread with 100 likes is better than 4 similar threads with the same 30-40 likes. Trolls are seemingly not as prevalent. But again that's their primary market.

A lot of what's done here is white noise and sh*tposting and it shows.

I doubt many devs read directly our words (some might be able to though), but they do hire people to translate, as I remember one CM saying the were hired for, and they (SE/Yoshida) have said as well that they aggerate feedback cross all the forums (and like other platforms), and spend time to go through it (that was said some time ago, but I've little reason to believe that has changed).

Twitter requires a different engagement from forums overall. But this is what gets me the most. Not to say content creators don't deserve any recognition. But it leaves us people who don't live on twitter in the dust and that sucks. Because echo chambers do not improve the community experience.

I posted in this thread, as I thought the discussion here was still more than relevant. I'm not the type to create several threads over nothing, and prefer to keep relevant discussion in singular large(er) threads.

It would be nice if they had enough representatives and forum moderators to actually do the job.
I'll say though, if they restrict what the mods can do here, as strongly as they restrict what the GM's are allowed to do in game, this might be all they could do even if there was 100 TIMES the number of them.
