The targeting mode fix is a nice one I'll say. I'm wondering if they'll also ninja fix the party member click to cure issue that arose after the last patch.

- DoM can't play as a nuker, we're only healers
- Black Mage/White Mage should be split off or let the player choose their way to play black or white mage
- magic animations need fixing
- Ancient Magics are useless, lack of animation
- offensive magics are too weak
This kinda thing comes in with a big patch, 1.17 or 1.18 maybe.
That's about it. Sadly.
Don't forget broken spells like Purge1/2 that do not work/do not cast when used in sub-target but get a full timer reset anyway.
Oh God, you can't be serious, you must be joking. I hope you are. Anyway I find most offensive magics to be more powerful than physical attacks.
Also this is the main reason why I didn't want the FFXIV severs to come back up anytime soon, because if they did people will start complaining and wanting stuff that they know that's on the way, but are too impatient to wait for it.

/agree with 3rd and 4th points.
1st point is a function of 5th point. If your 5th point is addressed in a meaningful way than you can be more than just a healer and the 1st point corrects itself.
2nd point is debatable. I'm all for that kind of specialization but it can be said that it wouldn't be necessary if the nukes were improved to make that choice of "spec" viable. If you could viably personalize your character into a WHM style layout or a BLM style layout and do it effectively than creating an actual BLM or WHM designation would be a somewhat pointless exercise. The hope I suppose is that by making an actual BLM or WHM that will, by extension, strengthen the WHM spells and BLM spells respectively thus making full and robust what is now average or worse at best as the combined CON class. If you just made the spells themselves full and robust like they ought to be you could then do w/e you wanted to 'usefully'.
You could argue the weakness magics. THM can solo the roaming NMs, as has been proven =)
I'm THM50 and actually ranking up CON (r44 atm). I'm not playing healing style and my nukes are pretty decent (but I like more debuffing as THM). C'mon, play the game the way you want to, I can do it so why don't you?
You do understand the Armoury System, don't you? I mean, equip "Black Mage" spells in order to play as a Black Mage or "White Mage" in order to play as a White Mage... Once more, develop your character and play the way you want to.

FFXIV AMs are not FFXI AMs (atm at least). I guess they are useless for leves rushing / behests and things like that, but maybe you could find them useful at NM fights. On the other hand, I'm not telling that they are awesome, that's for sure.
I agree on the lack of animation part, though.
