[5.55 Bozja spoilers] Additional post-ending Bozja story hidden in the field record

Unless the MSQ takes us to Bozja, I really doubt the Resistance Weapons storyline will be necessary FOR MSQ. It'll probably unlock optional dialogue, such as mentioning the new Bozjan constitution. And if side content takes us to Dalmasca, the fact that Gabranth's, Lyon's and Ashe's "epilogues" are in the Field Notes could just make it so those events are mentioned in the content proper. Outside of using the Espers, little of what happened in Bozja can be tied to Dalmasca, since all the Dalmascan side of the conflict happened off-screen.

My guess is that this plot thread will continue one day, but probably not in the msq. Maybe in 6.X's relic weapon questline, maybe in its trial questline, or maybe in 7.X or later.

I'm not so sure they'll require bozja though. An alliance raid series is pretty straightforward to get through in comparison to making people do Bozja. I imagine instead there may be some altered dialog if you DID do Bozja but they won't require it going forward.

The first sentence has Sicinus mal Vellutus, but the second sentence where Sicinius' POV starts has him refer to himself as Sicinius mal Gabranth.

I really doubt that they would make Bozja mandatory for future storylines about Dalmasca. They took a long time to even make something like the crystal towers mandatory and you can do those in one evening if you watch the cutscenes fast. Even if they nerf Bozja to the ground you would still need a much much longer time to finish it all, including having to wait and hope for castrum and the new instance. I also doubt that they would continue this story with the next relic because that would mean that people have to do old relic content to start the new one which is a bit much.

Honestly for me it makes the most sense that they will explain this stuff in the story quest and we may or may not get a few reactions from some of the bozja NPCs.

Rather than make Bozja itself mandatory I think based on what the epilogue says we may begin to see Bajsaljen as well as Fran and/or Ashelia begin to appear in dialogue or minor scenes when the MSQ takes us to Othard again since it seems like Bozja and Dalmasca would join the Eastern Alliance in due time. After all, Merlwyb did note Bozja by name in 5.4 as 'soon to be free' so it makes sense that it would continue to pop up now that the epilogue in the field notes more or less brings everything up to speed with the MSQ itself without having to messily decide exactly when the resistance achieved victory, which isn't to say those field notes aren't messy themselves... This would let them begin introducing some of the events of what happened in Bozja to the MSQ while allowing it to remain somewhat more sidelined for those that don't like Bozja's gameplay content. Then if/when Gabranth is picked to be an antagonist again they don't have a completely barren foundation for those that didn't do Bozja.



Now... what troubles me in terms of the field notes is Lyon's entry saying he spent six months in the gaol before 'assassinating' Gabranth before the 4th Legion was ultimately defeated and then showed up an additional three months later to hand over Scinicius. It certainly seems a weirdly long stretch of time to throw into the epilogue since ya know, the End Days are coming and all that so it seems very weird to me that the 4th Legion took that long to fall. But I guess time will tell when it comes to just how all this shakes out with Endwalker.

Not least of all because of Endwalker where we're given to believe the whole world is suffering from the End Days so the 4th Legion and Gabranth just ya know... chilling with it and still fighting Dalmasca during is just so out of place with the rest of the narrative.

That's actually brilliant if you think about it. How long does it take us to travel from Limsa to Kugane by ship? 3-4 months. Where will we be likely traveling from ship in Endwalker? To Sharlayan, and Thauvnair, which combined may take 3-4 months (since we're covering half the distance towards both destinations). Assuming there's a time skip of some kind at the end of 6.0, this basically lets them write the IVth Legion out of the story for when we come back, with Tataru or somebody else explaining to us what has happened in our absence.

Are they chilling? Or are they fighting the Terminus nearby while also fighting the Resistance the reason why this faked death happens? If they lost far too much manpower and supplies against the Terminus, it could be the only way out that Noah sees. Plus our minds will be elsewhere, we won't give a damn about the IVth Legion, we're literally dealing with an End of the World scenario, they play second fiddle to this.

Just finished Zadnor. It was overall decent but ohhhh boy that last bit in the Gabranth field notes really made me go "what?". Dalmasca is liberated offscreen? So we won't even get a Dalmasca liberation arc in Endwalker? We won't get to assault the IVth Legion's capital city of Lea Monde? We won't get to see Ashe come out of the shadows and retake Dalmasca? What? If we do get a third IVth Legion storyline in Endwalker... it's going to be Gabranth suddenly showing up and taking over Dalmasca? With what army? So it's going to be really weird: the present game last leaves us off with the IVth legion in control of Dalmasca. And then by the time we go there in Endwalker to liberate it, it has been liberated and reconquered offscreen? What? This is an extremely bizzare setup that only seems self-defeating to me.

Lyon assassinating Gabranth is extremely out of character. The only thing I can think of is that maybe Gabranth is pulling a Ramza/Gunnhildr and has his soul transplanted into something (ie, the blade Lyon used to kill Gabranth). Or maybe it really was a body double (doubtful since the epilogue notes seem convinced that it really was his body). But still, it doesn't explain how on earth Gabranth could possibly get an army to take over Dalmasca again now that 2/3rds of it were captured and the other 1/3rd has either been wiped out for scattered to the four winds.

Makes sense to me for it to be the 7.X relics. I mean unless it was held off for 8.0 or later not much else it could be unless they tied it into the Trial storyline. Which I suppose they could do but I'm still putting money on the four fiends.

Or it could end up tying into the Republic of Landis as an expansion.

Regarding the timeskip in the field notes: Nine months from now, going by the usual patch schedule, would be 6.1 (6 months to Endwalker, then the usual 3 months for a patch). It could be saying to expect the follow-up then, or it could be a coincience.
