[5.55 Bozja spoilers] Additional post-ending Bozja story hidden in the field record

An enormous chunk of the playerbase would sooner cancel their FF14 subscription and slit their wrists than ever set foot in Bozja, after how Diadem and Eureka went.
I'd find it a baffling decision on SE's part to continue the Bozja story at all, let alone make it *required* for anything in the future. Including just understanding the MSQ.
If anything at all eventually comes of this storyline, I'd expect it to be summarized for us in-game; I'm personally expecting us to never hear about the IVth or Dalmasca again.

I really doubt that they would make Bozja mandatory for future storylines about Dalmasca. They took a long time to even make something like the crystal towers mandatory and you can do those in one evening if you watch the cutscenes fast. Even if they nerf Bozja to the ground you would still need a much much longer time to finish it all, including having to wait and hope for castrum and the new instance. I also doubt that they would continue this story with the next relic because that would mean that people have to do old relic content to start the new one which is a bit much.

Honestly for me it makes the most sense that they will explain this stuff in the story quest and we may or may not get a few reactions from some of the bozja NPCs.

Hell, since 6.1 is supposed to start a new storyline, I outright expect them to merely go "He was reported to be dead!" and end it at that. We have had no interactions with him at all personally, so all we've heard (even the field records) is heresay. Now Lyon however, will likely reference the events of Save the Queen if you've done them, and probably have a line about him wanting to have a rematch ever since then.

I wouldn't be surprised to see this storyline continue on, but probably without the Empire itself being involved at all. No IVth legion etc, but continuing on with Noah in some form.

It's going to be a new overarchign story in the msq, but that doesn't mean no old plot threads will ever be picked up in general.

I think that "enormous chunk" is far smaller than you think.

They've actually said player engagement with Bozja was high before, so I doubt there's THAT many people that refused to even touch it.

Yeah but if it they would make it mandatory for the MSQ because they somehow decide to tie it in with the story it would be much different. Everyone would need to run through the whole deal. But I am curious about the numbers of participants for this content and how many of the people that started it even saw the ending. For Eureka the amount of people that finished it at the end was really small to the one amount that tried it out (and even that was like not even half the active playerbase?)

There's no way they'll make it mandatory for MSQ. That doesn't mean the side stories won't continue.

If they introduce Gabranth, Lyon, the Bozjan and Dalmascan NPCs, and the rest into the MSQ in 6.0 or 6.1, they could always just give the players the cliff notes about them if they hadn't done the Bozja content. The player technically doesn't need to know anything that wouldn't be immediately relevant to future content involving them, so taking the broad strokes approach would work just fine.
