So everyone has to adjust for your daughter’s sake? Maybe you could do actual parenting instead of letting your daughter play a game that has murder and rape in the story alone? I also didn’t know irl rules apply to a fantasy game.....I get it, I do, but the game rating is “teen” and we’re I a parent allowing my 13 y.o. daughter to play this (or any online game really), I would be unhappy if other players were allowed to freely talk in disgusting language.
I wouldn’t care about the occasional slipped swear word, but then again I believe most players don’t care either.
..therefore to be reported for it tells me that either a) you were going above and beyond in your language or b) you have a bad relationship with other members of the community who were able to report your slip up or c) there’s some troll who just enjoys causing issues.
Either way, when you enter a public space, you should be on your best behavior. Losing your cool in the game is akin to losing your cool at a restaurant or sports event...you really shouldn’t and if you are about to, consider just walking away for a bit.
It's a bit gross of you to question someone's parenting because they're allowing their 13 y/o to play FFXIV.
No one has to adjust for anyone's kids, you have to adjust because you're on the equivalent of private property and agreed to behave accordingly.
If that joke is really all you said then I think it's incredibly petty for someone to report you over it and the fact no GM has come talk to you yet is probably worse, but focus on that rather than being angry at someone pointing out there's still terms and conditions.

Yes, everyone is expected to adjust reasonably to what is accepted by the games rating (which is teen, btw), or risk trouble, especially when amongst strangers in a public setting.
You DO know what the ToS is? “Irl rules that apply to a fantasy game”..right?
You can’t shout profanity at a baseball stadium, or be crazy drunk at a restaurant without risk of getting thrown out, this is no different.
By your very abrasive reaction here, I can begin to guess why you might have gone to jail. When you rub people the wrong way don’t get mad when they report you over petty things. You agreed to the rules, you broke them, you deal with the consequences of that.

Only abrasive towards you. And teen btw is defined as 13 and up. If you let your child play at such a young age it's to be expected that they're gonna be exposed to certain things. And the TOS you're mentioning isn't worth much since it doesn't give actual definitions for Harassment or anything else, leaving it to be arbitrarily defined however anyone wants to define it.Yes, everyone is expected to adjust reasonably to what is accepted by the games rating (which is teen, btw), or risk trouble, especially when amongst strangers in a public setting.

You don't go to jail for yelling profanity at a baseball stadium. Not a good example. I guess the take home from what you're saying is that when people "rub" me the wrong way I'll just make sure to report them too.

You are free to do so, but the person who will decide is the GM. Also you won't know the result whether the person in question is going to go to jail or not anyway.
You might not go to jail, but you might get kicked out of the stadium - which is basically what moardian goal and an ingame ban are: You being kicked out of the stadium aka game. So yeah, good example.
Charming. I've tried to be as civil as possible.
If you read my examples, you would understand I am aware of that:
I never said they wouldn't be. I said:
How the game devs and mods want to define it. And they do. And you're in jail for violating it.
I mean, you're not actually in jail... as Vidu said:
If that's what your take away is, sure. I'm not surprised since it seems you haven't really read what I had to say.
Look, I've got nothing personal against you. You seem like you can get carried away or a little hot headed over things. All good, we all screw up or get upset...but is this really a hill worth fighting over? Like I said at the very beginning:
Chalk it up to a learning experience and wake up tomorrow a better person.

Also to point out, there is a huge difference in a teen watching a story/movie/game that presents adult themes like murder, rape, alcohol or smoking in a tasteful teen-appropriate manner and, say, letting the kid watch straight up porn or worse role playing it out on their own with strangers.
There is a reason alcohol/smoking is enjoyed by certain NPCs but as a consumable in game for our characters, it simply doesn't exist.
