Unfortunately it's very easy for the terms of service to be weaponised in this game and there's no shortage of players who gleefully do just that. As a rule of thumb, it's best not to say anything that could be read into as inappropriate.

Weaponised to what extend tho? I have told numerous players to get better at their jobs and I am pretty sure some of them have reported me for harassment judging by their attitude. I haven't been in jail.

There was that time I refused to heal some tank that wanted to pull 2 mobs at a time in a level 55(The Aery) dungeon. I told them that I am not leaving because they are too lazy to play(they were not new, 3 tank jobs at level 80) and I am not going to start playing until they do. Iirc they were together with the dps because both of them backed the tank and told me that I have earned 3 reports. And that happened one month ago, no jail time.
Usually, I have no problems with tanks that are not pulling, I tell them to start pulling and they do.

Another tank, Snowcloak, one pack of mobs at a time, I rescue them so that we can pull more, they refuse to do their job and let me die. I was still fairly new back then, one of the dps who was trade mentor told me it is against ToS to force my playstyle on other players. And to that I replied: "I want to do big pulls, why are you forcing your playstyle on me? It is against ToS". Silence and then luckily I got kicked.

I mean the way its written is open-ended to the point a person can be mass reported for the dumbest reason in the world, and the gms will just use one of their open ended terms to excuse it.. either the harassment one or "messing with other peoples game play" They really need to fix how they word things so its less open ended and cant be massively spammed just because the Majority dislikes another's style/gameplay/etc

sad truth is your better off not talking in groups unless you know at least 1/2 of the members tbh this is why games online will die not by bad design but making their rules open ended where all a group has to do is mass it and use one of the open ended written rules. I do find it funny how a game says "play your own way" or w/e but the second you do it or put an identity to your character then its suddenly "your messing up other peoples experience" or its harassment over an emote lol

Plus editing for this but people literally try to set someone off on purpose so they can weaponzie the rules and then the stupid gms on games are like robots when a person or persons set someone off on purpose

Ironically, you can grief and troll all you want pretty much as long as you remain silent in chat. If you're super unlucky, you *might* be caught if the GM is in a bad mood and the reporters have you on stream or something. But otherwise? Totally abuseable report system that relies far too much on chat logs.

How do you know people are not getting banned for trolling but get banned for using inappropriate language? Isn't it just because almost no one bothers with reporting trolls?

Considering how many times my friend has trolled alliance roulettes as a tank and only been to gm jail once and it was directly after he said something in chat It's a pretty good bet that you will only get caught if you're chatting.

Everything else is deniable and can be chalked up to just being a bad player.
