Viera and Hrothgar Megathread

I wonder where people even get this from honestly. There's absolutely no a single word on male haircuts being available for girls. And honestly, even if it's the case - I still think that they should adjust at least unlockable hairstyles from Mog Station and in-game content.

I don't know either, but I see it frequently enough that it stood out. It'd be better than nothing for sure, and some look quite nice, but it would be pretty disappointing if that's all it is.

I'm personally a patient person and can wait as long as its needed, even if it's another two years, because I do respet the devteam and don't want them to overwork too much for the sake of couple of haircuts, but it doesn't make the fact that two races are locked from a solid chunk of glamour any more pleasant.

Yeah there's not much else for it but to wait (and raise a stink every now and then ), but I really hope it's not another two years. I don't want anyone to overwork themselves either but if they're not going to include us in releases then maybe they could not release 10/11 hairstyles for everyone else and none for us, and instead split the amount so everyone gets something?

Sudden thought: Hrothgar are the only race that can alter their hairstyle through the 'facial features', meaning that separating face and hair may already be impossible, and likely the only option would be to add different face/hair combos to their face tab.

I know nothing of coding so I can only assume the CC isn't designed for that many face options, but since Hroths technically have no hair tab, their CC should have a lot of ...extra space? so perhaps theirs can be set up differently - that would indirectly also mean that unless the aesthetician is also overhauled for them, the whole "Fantasia to change hair" is probably here to stay even if we had as many hairstyles as the other races.

The only place they ever seem to add things in the CC is the hair tab, which would be the fur pattern tab for Hrothgar. Every race generally has the same amount of tabs, just shuffled around or repurposed slightly. Though you do have "8 faces" vs. everyone else's 4 (or 6 if you're a midlander) so we don't actually know the cap on that, but yeah it wouldn't solve the Fantasia issue.

It's speculated that's because Hrothgar and Viera were treated as a package deal, now that male Viera will be added, however, we'll see if that truly was the case.

On a positive note I’m pretty happy that the Ivalice gear from Zadnor has every headpiece available to viera and and hrothgar. The healer and caster ones are quite nice.

Trying to stay positive until 6.0. At least with the release of the side pony come and gone, there will be no more new hair to rub our noses in for the next 6 months.

yeah that is not gonna happen....when is next instance of news from the devs? there was something of a 14h stream or something?

Yeah, assuming they can safely get everyone together for it. There’s no promise of viera and hrothgar news there but they usually do go into different aspects of the game in depth along with interviews and the like.

It’s going to be a long wait. Just hope we have something to show for it in November. There no way they don’t know it’s an issue for players regardless of how other people in the community try to downplay it. Adding two more options with no access to hair and/or hats is just going to add more fuel to the fire by way of more upset players if that’s still the case when 6.0 drops.
