Thank you
(That moment when you wrote out an entire post about a new back story for the moogles, and then accidentally press the wrong 'reply button', causing you to lose everything you were writing for the past hour... T_T Try again I guess.........)

Right. Second try.
I hope you don't mind Original poster, but with the coming of 'Endwalker', and the new stories being introduced about Garlemald, the back story may be a little outdated. I have an idea for a possible new backstory, though it won't be as well articulated as yours. I fear I'm not very good at writing. I really hope you don't mind... Anyways, here goes... so the idea is this:
These Moogles actually hail from the 'New World', the same place as the Ma Moolja and blue magic come from. Being quite deft and nimble with their hands, they have been able to create wondrous creations out of the materials nature provided. Clocks, windmills, machines; you name it, they probably made something like it, though not to the level of Magiteck the Garleans use, as they don't have the materials needed. Generally quite content to live amongst themselves, away from other races, some have recently been seen travelling far beyond their territories; some heeding the call of adventure, while some wishing to travel and learn of new techniques and technology. Upon seeing them, the other races likened their appearance to that of a Moogle, thus earning them them name 'Moglet' (insert better name here?)
Perhaps these Moglets are descendants of Lopurrets who came from the Moon; this faction wishing to live on the world rather than simply gazing at it. Perhaps they abandoned their duty on the Moon to do this, or perhaps they were banished for some ill-considered deed? Settling upon the earth, over time their appearance changed to help help them live in their new home.
Their brightly coloured Poms allow them to locate each other in the tall forests they live in, and they can fly for short periods of time enabling them easy access going from tree to tree. In recent history however, some have lost the ability to fly due to lack of use for their wings, due to them creating lifts and the like, getting rid of the need to fly.
Their homes are built up in the tall trees of the forests they call home, high above the forest floor. The reason for this is, due to their small size, the monsters that lurk beneath the forest's bough would often attack and eat them for a quick meal. Because of this, there are quite skittish by nature, and will shrink away and disappear into the overgrowth should a large monster or other race be nearby. Such behavior has caused the Ma Moolja to called them 'Forest Faeries' due to them disappearing on sight.
There diet being that of an Omnivore, they would grow their fruit and Vegetables in gardens hanging high in the canopies, while hunters would traverse the forest looking for food. This job of course was quite dangerous, as one wrong move could cause the hunter to become the hunted...
The craftiness of the Moglet is quite well known. With their knowledge of machinery, they have been able to create a vast network of lifts, bridges and windmills spreading throughout their forests. They make traps for any intruders, including pitfalls, nets, and the like.
There are two groups of these 'Moglets'. The aforementioned forest dwellers, and another group that decided to leave the forests and settle on the plains. These Moglets are more willing to interact with the other races in the New World, even going so far as to trade with them and interact. Because of this, these Moglets are able to gather materials they otherwise could not have done if they stayed in the forests. Some of these Moglets have gone on to create small towns for themselves, allowing them to carry on with their penchant for machinery without interference. This group has been known to be able to make small factories, and even guns, their weapon of choice; which they use with frightening efficiency. Because of these advancements, these and the Forest Moglets are able to defends themselves from monster attacks more easily.
Despite being small, they are surprisingly quick, being able to keep pace with even the tallest Rogaedyn. Just like Lalafells, their size belies their strength, being able to wear heavy armour just as well as them. However, just like the desert Moogles of Ivalice, they have a natural aversion to water. While being able to swim somewhat, their fur is not very waterproof, leading them to get extremely cold when submerged.
...
I tried. What do you think? Any feedback would be cool![]()

i liked the way you linked then with the Loporrits, but i think we still need to know more of then, since we have some theories that maybe someone created them.Perhaps these Moglets are descendants of Lopurrets who came from the Moon; this faction wishing to live on the world rather than simply gazing at it. But i like to think the loporrits lived on Hydaelin, and due to some umbral calamity, some moglets went to the moon and became loporrits in some way.

Ah good point. Will have to think about it... need more info on Lopurrets... I like your idea though. Perhaps it wasn't them coming from the moon, but to the moon?i liked the way you linked then with the Loporrits, but i think we still need to know more of then, since we have some theories that maybe someone created them.

yes, i think i put it in a confuse way, but all the loporrits were moglets, and when they arrived in the moon, due to some characteristic of the moon, turned these moglets into loporrits. (or maybe the loporrits are just hiding their pom and wings :P)
PS:"some errors are because i'm brazilian and i'm not acostumated to write in english"

It's very clear that the chances of them bringing another new race after Fem Hrothgar is approximately 0%, for 7.0 i have no hopes, 8.0 a big maybe, but who knows for 9.0, that goes my big bet.
I don't know how is the process of making a new race, if they need to redo all the animations the abilities or just redo the glamour pieces, and even how another games do other races.
But how i stated up i hope that they make another race, and that it is a small, because just lala is kinda sad.

Sad to see this thread go away again...
However, with all the new updates to the story, I feel that this thread may be a little dated sadly. I intend to start a new one regarding this topic. I'll try my best to be as thorough as this thread's op.
