There have been only 3 things (so far) in this game that have used time magic. Astrologians, Alexander, and Ascians. It makes sense now after the end of Eden why they were so desperate to halt the spread of AST outside of Sharlayan, it could give away just how much knowledge they actually had, since manipulating time is nearing the realm of gods.

It really wouldn't surprise me if they've been hording a huge trove of knowledge from the time of the Ancients that they and their forefathers have been amassing since shortly after the Sundering while things were still largely intact.
Sevestre Albright, yes. Who is also a powerful member of the Forum, and I wonder if we'll meet him again.

As far as I know he's still a powerful member of the Forum, especially if Fourchenault is going "we must not intervene", which is the stance of Sevestre's isolationist faction. He knows we can destroy him politically, but the agreement was that we keep quiet as long as he doesn't go after Leveva (who, as the other apprentice ASTs note, is fooling nobody with her disguise), so I don't know how he'd react to seeing us sail into Sharlayan.

I fully expect him to turn up in Endwalker - and if it's in the MSQ, what with the blackmail threat hanging over him, he conveniently isn't going to want to bring up his previous involvement with us. So the story can skim over the difference whether someone has done the AST quests or not.

Perhaps we'll use it to force his hand on a vote.

Nah, the point is that the AST stuff can't be raised in MSQ as a plot point because not everyone has done it. So not everyone has that material to blackmail him with.

Rather, it passively keeps him silent about having met you before, so he'll act the same to the WoL whether it's genuinely your first meeting or he just wants to pretend it is. At least that's how I'm picturing it to play out.

At most we might get a line or two acknowledging that he remembers us as one of Leveva's companions before her tragic demise, but other than that I don't think there'd be any crossover. Though probably everyone learns pretty quickly that he's a nasty piece of work.

Soldier_1stClass made an interesting video on Sharlayan and it's connection to Venat and theorized that Emet-Selch wasn't the only one with "a Penchant for nation building" and Venat has some stock in Sharlayan.

His guess was that in order for the world to view Hydaleyn as a source of Light and all around goodness she aided Nyunkrepf Nyunkrepfsyn with premeditated information on the Calamity of Water so they were able to build an arc and take people to safety, à la the story of Noah.

It's an interesting theory and wouldn't be completely out of left field. The Encyclopedia Eorzea in Universe seems to be written by Sharlayan and have a less than favorable opinion of Zodiark so I think it would be cool if Hydaelyn had/has nations that let her protect the truth of her existence from prying eyes and who better to do that than a nation of scholars who hide away knowledge from the world?

I also think it would be cool if this "pro-Hydaelyn Propoganda" in a sense allows us to dive into the angle of motivation of "I did all this to protect you because I care" very "Mother" crystal like, it would be a fun time. I sure do hope Hydaelyn gets to say her piece since we got the perspective from a Champion of Zodiark in Emet-Selch and even if she is sus she has helped us out
    -Shielded us from Ultima
-Helped us Manifest a blade of light to save Thancred
-Her blessing is the reason we were able to contain the light and save the first etc.

I think it was also mentioned either by the encyclopedias or by Koji directly that the Sharlayans are the only ones who generally know about Hydaelyn as a concept, let alone the fact that she's a Mothercrystal floating in the aetherial sea. I never really thought about why they know that and just accepted that they're smart and know things. But this theory makes a lot of sense and would explain why they know that and also how they were able to become so magically advanced.

Ya, the incident may appear in the 6.0 MSQ if players finished that aspect of AST Job story Quest but it may not affect anything beyond a slight dialogue changes and possible extra dialogue option. However, it would be interesting if that AST quest did have a major dialogue change for 6.0 MSQ like the DRG 2.0 Job Story quest did for 3.0 MSQ

Well, we don't HAVE to be the only ones with dirt on him in our little group. We already know Tataru has been able to blackmail many a person, and considering all the Scions are FROM Sharlayan, one of them could easily have an old story he doesn't want getting out.

Small correction: the Archons are from Sharlayan, the majority of people in the Scions however, are not, but mere adventurers, artisans and traders from Eorzea - this is because the 'Scions' are actually two seperate organisations amalgamated: Louisoix's renegade Sharlayan group of scholars called the Circle of Knowing (which is the group the Archons belong to), and the Path of the Twelve, a research guild of Echo users Minfilia ran (it was retconned in one of the 'Tales From the Calamity' stories that the Path was also formed under Louisoix's direction, but that fact was never stated in 1.0).

After Louisoix's presumed death during the Calamity, and with most of the Path's membership decimated by losses on the Plains of Carteneau (much of the Path was made of Echo-awoken adventurers), now brefet of a leader Y'shtola and the Archons approached Minfilia about pooling their resources, and she agreed to amalgamate the two groups together, forming the Scions of the Seventh Dawn.

Hence, using the term 'Scion' is something of a umbrella term that can have different meanings (call it semantics but it's why I'm usually reluctant to use the term 'Scion' when refering to the likes of Y'shtola and co, and so prefer the term 'Archon' instead, as it confuses things with people like Hoary Boulder who lack the Archons' Sharlayan origins and specialized training and are instead more just like the 'mundane' members of the former Path of the Twelve).

And then you have the Students of Baldesion as well throwing in their lot with the Scions which technically is just 'Circle of Knowing Alternative', but I digress...
