    You don't care enough about the game to buy it before getting reviews, but you care enough that you feel entitled to some pixel minion without preordering?

    SE is a business. Support them and you will get your stuff accordingly.

    Called pre-order incentives. Same reason they give you a exp accessory.
    No one is forcing you to do anything. But, if you gonna get the expansion anyhow - why would you not pre-order it?
