I can't see a permanent hub city getting ruined, at least to a degree it can't be fixed again. And we already have a "ruined Sharlayan" hub.
On the other hand, that does mean there are ready-to-use models of damaged Sharlayan structures...
I feel like Labyrinthos is going to get messed up if anything.
I still find it a touch suspicious that the angles of the zone they showed in the preview seemed deliberately meant to avoid showing off much and mostly focused on the buildings stationed around the edges of the zone.
I don’t think it’s going to get ruined so much as have a major appearance change. (If my hunch is correct and it turns out to be an Ark of some kind that is). I’m expecting it to have a very drastic change in appearance at some point.I feel like Labyrinthos is going to get messed up if anything.

They could easily mess around with its artificial sky and lighting, without doing much to the zone below. Change it, switch it off, smash it open. Send it into emergency evacuation mode with the whole sky flashing warning messages and lights.
I had a thought that if they're sticking to the same formula for zones that they did in SB/ShB, we're likely going to return to Labyrinthos and Thravnair at some point in the story, and them being endangered by the worsening conditions of the Final Days seems like a good reason for that.
Both the opening movie and a dungeon artwork suggest that things are eventually going to get super ugly at least in the case of the latter.
Probably already been said but.. (I'm reading each page still atm) but the tower dungeon is probably the imperial capital.. im MSQ our daddy couple from the first said they were convering the police into something that looked like the towers.. im guessing we arrive at the palace by train an further up we go thr more biotech it gets until we're at the top with the fleshy looking walls
Pretty sure the tower had Matanga in the walls.Probably already been said but.. I have a feeling that rather than Sharlayan being ruined we're going to end up intervening in some way and getting them to play ball. Possibly with an Ishgard-esque need to fight one of the higher ups etc. But I doubt the city itself will fall, though it may end up humbled in some other way.
I'm half-expecting a tower to pop up in Labyrinthos as a big message that no, they are not going to escape from the Final Days no matter where they go on the star.
Or at least I'd like to hope Fandaniel and Zenos aren't just going to ignore us using the place as a staging point for our operations.
Before hand I kind of figured the big fleshy dungeon was the New imperial palace and the train station was our way to get to Garlemald but now it looks like it might be reversed, the big Fleshy structure appears to be the one in Thravnir what with the Matanga and Magus sister connection (notice how their attire has similar similar coloring to a lot of architecture in Thravnir). In the Dungeon showcase after going to the elevator in the train-station it appears to take the player to an area that has almost identical architecture to the old imperial palace with new Mhcai like additions. My guess is with the resources and an area already made for the imperial palace they might reuse it to save resources, an example of a new structure being built over the old like some Mayan temples such as temple 16 at Copan which has an old temple known as the Rosalia preserved inside of a pyramid. But that does leave the question, is the outside area just the beginning of the Thravnir dungeon before you go in the tower or does it have 2.
Also the last dungeon shown which has a design similar to Amurot might be our Dungeon for the moon, or at least one of them.
