I don't get why anyone would say they're gross for being tall, Imo Viera is a lot more mature choice than miqote or even au ra which are more of a anime schoolgirl aesthetic even going down to the emotes, so I dunno. I think since they're the same race however they should be more of a pair, I don't really care about their height compared to other races, and if they're around same-ish height then most people get to be happy.

It was a wild time, but thankfully most of those people have shut up at this point.

On topic: I agree with the previous poster that they are probably going to line up with the fem Viera sliders, and what is there in the reveal is set in stone. If they are taller it will be so tiny (like in the case of elezen) that it will barely register.

There is some things I would also like other races looked like, but I accept I cannot get everything and make the best of what I am given. I was so fond of my F miqote moonkeeper I made in 1.0, that I simply could not replicate in ARR as they removed skincolor I used, and specially the voice I was very fond of. So, I just spent hours and even tweaking her until I decided to racechange and start a fresh new start as my ARR Altera was not and would never again be my 1.0. SHould I make a Show your Support thread to have them reintroduce 1.0 voices and skincolors etc? I have been all races, but settled in the end with Viera as they had most of the things I felt good with

You are getting Male Vieras, and if some things about them isnt to your personal liking, tough luck.

I think people don't realize just how tall hyur are, like, max height fem au ra is a pretty average human lady height. Also what is this obsession with needing to be taller than fem viera that I keep seeing? I demand my height slider cap increased if they are.

This is where I am on this whole thing. Kinda weirded out at the fervent NEED for some people to make it impossible for a woman to be taller than a man, even a fantasy race that could follow different rules (and are based off an animal that in fact follow the inverse height ratio, and whose design is based off of at least a stereotype of tall warrior women.)

Either way, all reasons i've seen people use to argue that male viera shouldn't be shorter than the females all end up in the same boring, homogeneous design that the game already satisfies in abundance, just maybe not to a single person's specific idea of "perfect".
So my vote is: Give them a varied height slider, sure, but, if you're gonna do that then expand female viera's to compensate as well and let their max be taller than the male's max.
Shorter males would give the race one more rabbit-like feature since we couldn't have permanent bunny-feet.
Shorter males would make them more successful at navigating and hiding in the forest.
And shorter males would make sense since they are thrown into the wilderness to do hard physical labor and away from a reliable food supply RIGHT at the peak of their physical development, which would cause stunted growth.
Oh and shorter males are cool, and not a trope currently represented in XIV, and if you don't want to play a race that cannot be taller than its own females, then you have literally every other race to play (Besides lalafell as I think they're on par) and if those aren't to your liking, suggest updates and options for them.

Though, I would prefer to see a bigger difference, on par with the other races (except for au ra), so that the tallest female was similarly taller than the tallest male, as, say, the tallest male miqo'te is to the tallest female miqo'te, the best compromise would be this.


Where yes, the tallest male cannot be taller than the tallest female, because, like i've said, it's objectively rad.
BUT, in practice, most players will slam that height slider on their bunnygirl way down, so those who cannot bear to have a woman taller than them will be taller than most of their population if they crank their slider way up. (and will just have to deal with it or fantasia to another race / talk to a therapist if they can't deal)

Some people also have the fervent need to prevent ANY male from being taller than ANY female so there's both sides to this.
personally I don't see an issue with that height scale.

I haven't seen a single soul push for every other existing race to invert their height ratios, just suggestions for a new dynamic to this new race option, so... huh??

personally I don't see an issue with that height scale.

EDIT: Have a look at twitter where they call for them to be 1/4th of female viera or half height at max or calling anyone a coward who wants them to be taller at all, but go off.

The fact that people want to use female height standards for how tall male Viera should be is sad to say the least. Those of us who will actually play male Viera and who don't have a good tall male option don't want female Viera height; because females are short when compared to males.

When giving male options I'm thinking of male heights, not about the females.
The tallest female Viera is shorter than the male Highlander, that's not tall on the male side of things.

Then don't play a race whose current representative "isn't tall" enough for you.
I genuinely think you'd be much happier suggesting improved options for the races you currently like, as I believe from your previous posts, you wouldn't like playing a male viera anyway what with how soft the released designs are.

Like,this is what I'm assuming first my dude. D; And it's only in reference to people completely refusing the notion that the males' max slider wouldn't be as tall as the females' at that. Nothing to do with wanting more customization options. Just people who specifically do not want that one specific scenario to happen.

I'm not pretending those motivations don't exist because, well i've been around the internet, and people, for too long to not know those are possibilities. But please understand that if my description doesn't apply to you, then it does not refer to you.
Like I ain't calling anyone out here, I just want people to know that like, that stuff can be worked through. :T I can edit the post if someone feels called out but like, that's super not the intent there.
