does anybody remember how long we have waited for the shadowbringers benchmark after the fanfest and female vieras got released?

All benchmarks so far were released roughly 1.5 month prior expansion release. If they won't change the pattern, we will get 6.0 one in the beginning of October.

You might want to consider adding Elezen to the list as well, since M Viera feel more suited to the Wood Elf archetype than Elezen do. Maybe it's just me. >.>

I love how the male viera look! I’ve been waiting for this for years and I couldn’t be happier. I usually just lurk in this thread instead of posting nowadays, but after the stream, I was dying to post about this as soon as I could.

I was personally ok with a short male viera or a slim and taller male viera – either one would have been fine with me as long as they weren’t overly buff or bulky! I’m so happy with the design choice for male viera, I can’t contain my excitement. Their body type is slim and they unsurprisingly have a pretty boy face similar to miqo’te (kinda like a JRPG protagonist or bishounen?) – it’s everything I could have ever asked for. They also appear to be a little bit more on the androgynous side. Some people who made reaction videos to the reveal didn’t even realize it’s a male viera until a little later in the video lol vid1 vid2


It’s in line with the lore since male and female viera are pretty much indistinguishable when they are young. So it makes sense they look similar when they’re older, but you can tell the difference because of female viera’s secondary sex characteristics. I wonder if the females wear such skimpy racial gear because they are trying so hard to differentiate themselves from the males (I’m joking, don’t take it too seriously)

Aaaaaaa I’m just so happy. I’ve been saving my free fantasia in hopes I could one day use it to change to male viera. It looks like that day will finally be a reality.

I’m also really surprised we got male viera so soon. I was thinking if the devs were going to make male viera, it would be in 7.0 at the earliest. This just goes to show how the graphics team worked incredibly hard to live up to the requests and expectations of the players.

Thanks again graphics team, Yoshi P, everyone. I’m seriously so grateful. You guys listened to player requests for female viera, male viera, male hrothgar, and even female hrothgar. Like wow that must be a crazy amount of work. I’m sure a lot of people here, including myself, feel very heard. Like our voices matter to you guys, that’s how it feels. So I can’t thank the ffxiv team enough.

Dang, what else can I say? This is so unbelievable for me. Life has been so busy for me lately, so I’ve been feeling kind of worn out. This announcement was just the kind of pick me up I needed.

AND CAN I JUST SAY THEY LOOK SO AWESOME

The racial gear looks pretty cool too, especially the clawed shoes. Can’t wait to try out reaper on male viera.

In regards to the height, it seems like males are about the same height as the females.

(Keep note the female viera is wearing heels)

Both of these images are from their reveal trailers and I don't know what height either of them are. A lot of people used objects or landmarks to estimate the height. However, I adjusted the image so that the male and female head sizes would match - I figured that'd give us a somewhat good estimate, too. However, if any of you want to, feel free to send me a picture of a min or max height female viera in the same pose, and I'll do another side by side image. That way we won't have to guess what height the female is.

Personally, I don't care too much about height. I have a slight preference for shorter min/max height male viera because it's just something different and I find it interesting, but it doesn't matter much to me at the end of the day. They look great regardless!
