Sure but since those tokens aren't used to buy anything else, they're still unnecessary. The only thing you can do with them is buy a weapon. If you're buying a weapon, then you know that looooooooong before you reach 2000 tomestones.

But if you aren't doing Savage you literally cannot buy the weapon until week 7, by which you could have earned 2,700 tomestones. If you are doing Savage, at most one person in your group per week can buy the weapon, which means at least three people have to wait until they could have earned over 2,000 tomestones.
