Viera and Hrothgar Megathread

Hrothgar hairstyles still intrigue me because unless they magically separate face and hair, either only one of the 4 faces (probably face 2, due to sheer popularity) will get a new hairstyle at a time, leaving the other 3 in the dust, or they'll make 4 variations of it for each face every time a new one comes out, and somehow I don't think the CC spaghetti code can withstand the latter.

...or they'll just ignore the race altogether

Two of the faces are pretty common, not just the Runar-like.
Even when it comes to a beast race, people will gravitate towards what looks cool or cute. And the two faces fit that. The other two... Well, one looks like bootleg orc-faced Kimahri and the other has unremovable spikes and a meat mustache. No wonder they're nowhere near as popular.

Face 2 (Magnus/Radovan) is actually by far the most popular, hence why I think that one would be the first candidate for a new hairstyle, Runar's face only became popular rather recently, likely after many Hroths got tired of the same face syndrome, but yeah, they're the 2 best faces. The only people I normally see with the Kimahri face are those who are literally roleplaying as him (no offense to any face 4 Hrothies out there!)

From what I know, the best hairstyles are also attached to the Runar/Magnus faces, which don't help things. Unlinking the hairstyles to the faces may fix it and encourage different faces. Hell, I'd possibly choose one of the other two faces if I could have these glorious locks on them.

I actually just screenshotted all hairstyles and copy pasted my char's face over to see how he'd look with them lol but I've seen the modded Jecht's hair around so...maybe it's how they do it?

Yeah those look fantastic. Tbh I feel like a quick refitting of all these hairs for Hroth, as well as select legacy hairs for both viera and hroth, would be an easy way to please the player base without having to struggle to make all new assets.

Yep, I get that it takes a long time to make a (potentially) good amount of new hairstyles for 2 very different races. But like, nobody asked them to do that lol they literally chose the most time consuming option and then, shock horror, struggle to find the resources to actually do it.
