Seeing where the lion's share of the Frankenstein's monster stitches from THAT breakup go should be interesting to see.
Oh who am I kidding. One of those jobs is red, the other is green. That's not even a question. Next!
I'm sure we'll get to keep Physick. Isn't that great? Physick!
honestly long overdue. I know it's nice to level a 2 in 1 job, but if somehow behind the scenes one holds back the other...
I wonder how they would do in practice, though... ACN will become SCH and they'll have the SMN as an independent entry at lv30 (like MCH, DRK and AST)?
Or they'll create a brand new Class for one or the other? Honestly, I feel that they would have to retcon some stuff in the job questlines as well... But then, given the current state of the actions across different jobs, a lot of them really need some retcons at this point.
Half of the AST abilities nowadays make no sense from what lore you learn with AST's job quests... and probably will do even less sense with EW's changes. I kinda wonder if that's the reason why the most recent jobs' quests mention nothing about skills themselves, so they would avoid their lore to clash with future redesigns.
ACN/SMN have tied weapons while SCH have their own books. Arcanist shows Summoner gear when picking it for your starter class. I guess the most natural outcome would be to keep Arcanist tied to Summoner and have Scholar as an unlockable at level 30.honestly long overdue. As for future Job quests, it seems they have abandoned them altogether. I wonder what will hapen with the new jobs? If they start at level 70, they would have no job quests in the current system. (Crystarium role story lines)
Oh my b, you're right about the SCH>SMN thing, I completely forgot as I went through that in the paleolithic.ACN/SMN have tied weapons while SCH have their own books. The quests, I actually meant past ones, but for the new jobs, like you mention... Yeah, what I can see see is probably an introductory quest chain, but I wonder how they'll insert job lore for them.
ACN being tied to SMN and SCH splitting off on its own would make the most sense simply because SMN and ACN are both dps. It'd be weird if you started the game as a dps and then your continuation was into a healing job.

I thought the reason no one had job quests anymore was due to creative burnout on furthering everyone's reasons for learning their new skills from 72-80 and just had the role quests as a "New World" replacement so everyone had something at minimum of a lore case that also served a point to push a side narrative as well?ACN/SMN have tied weapons while SCH have their own books. Well, at least I'm trying...
Not saying that isn't the reason for that quest system. But with the new jobs, those crystarium quests no longer serve as job lore quests. So I guess they would get either level 70+ quests parallel to the crystarium ones or simply get them at level 80-90.I thought the reason no one had job quests anymore was due to creative burnout on furthering everyone's reasons for learning their new skills from 72-80 and just had the role quests as a "New World" replacement so everyone had something at minimum of a lore case that also served a point to push a side narrative as well?
I suspect it's a combination of not being sure what to do with some job stories anymore for long running ARR/HW jobs, as well as just the additional jobs being added, meaning more storylines every expansion. So they condensed into role quests.
I really hope the new jobs still get their own quest chain. I don't mind older jobs not getting new ones every expansion but new jobs really should still get a quest line to flesh out their lore, even if they're running parallel level wise to role quests.

I personally interpreted the "Power Boost" as meaning "I have the three extra stacks". Yes I agree that Dissipation should've effected actions as well. but at the same time you're still trading your faerie for extra healing or damage in a moment where the faerie is likely spent and not contributing much. Dissipation was fine as soon as they added the fact the faerie automatically return. Personally? I'd rather have the PVP version of the skill that but would require completely reworking the current system of how our OGCDs work to make sense.
