There is a good chance the 12 gods are just the 14 Ascians, especially given Nad’Thal is technically two entities.

As “Dalamud” was a corrupted version of “Bahamut”, we should expect the names to be janky, and even their roles/genders or relationships to be somewhat wrong.

It would not surprise me if:

Gaia were Nophica and Athena were Halone. Halone’s description (shield weilder) is similar enough to Greek myth, it would just mean they were rivals/lovers rather than bitter rivals. Since ascians change bodies, it’s possible the name Athena means he was actually female at some point..but who knows.

I was more under the impression that the Twelve are those who summoned Hydaelyn, not the Convocation who summoned Zodiark. But I guess we'll find out more in 6.0.
