I agree that it's insane, but...you'd be amazed what people will pay for pixels. Or the promise of pixels. From what I can tell so far it's a combination of both. And yes, judging by some of the listings, there actually have been buyers where it says "x amount sold" for hundreds of dollars.

I submitted entry for myself 1 minute after it was live. Wife did same but 30 minutes after being live. Guessing if you missed applying within the first 10 minutes you’re a no go.... I got my code late last night but she has not

Hers might be delayed since you're in the same household so I imagine they'll want to verify you're 2 separate people and not one person submitting 2 entries under 2 names.
