Viera and Hrothgar Megathread

I think elezen have some of the prettiest faces. I don’t like the shape of their shoulders either. I usually play elf characters in all my games. FFXIV is the first one I haven’t been an elf. I love viera and how they look athletic and graceful, but even certain glamours make their heads seem small too. I’ve come to accept that little heads is part of ffxiv in general

It's not the tiny head (correct hair/ear choices balance it out imho) or large shoulders (which I find very attractive) that put me off Elezen. It's that damn running animation that drives me insane. Thankfully, simply never sheathing a weapon teaches your elf to use her whole body for movement just fine. Makes the AST walk very elegant looking with those long legs.

I agree that their faces have great options, and I have spent more money using fantasia to change my elf to a slightly different looking elf more than other races..

It depends- if I’m playing a small race I max the height slider but my viera is min height. Reason? I’m self insert trash so I try to get them as close to my height as possible.

I seem to have struck a nerve by saying I don't like the female Highlander faces.

I don't think they're ugly, masculine, or angry looking, but I personally enjoy more exaggerated features (particularly big eyes and big, bright irises) whereas Highlander is more "realistic human".

I also don't really like how most of their faces have some sort of dirt(?) or uneven/dark skin texture baked in either on the cheeks or around the eyes, I'd prefer to add that stuff myself if I want it. I guess it's there to emphasize the rough, warrior type of humans they are but like the male Highlanders not having brows because of this, I'm not a huge fan.

It's great that they're an option for those that do like that though.

Viera has everything I like except more hairstyles so... Gimme some more hairstyles

I was just guessing because I mentioned I didn't like female Highlander faces and the topic shifted to how great they are. They are great, just not for me!

Dw, I am self-insert trash as well! I even chose Viera because my dad would call me "rabbit" when I was little.

I'm very opposite. Playing small races gives me such a weird dysphoria after a while I need stools in every corner of my house, and I want to live my big woman dreams!!

LOL I can relate to both you and BunniEclair.

I max height everything- MAX HHEIGHT SLIDER CREW!!!!! Might be because I myself am a 6ft tall ( 5'11-1/2" if you want top be extremely technical) female. I am just so used to be the tallest where I went. I figure why not translate it to game too! LOL So yeah Self Insert Trash here as well!!

And if I play smaller races I just max their height unless its Lalafell...cause Have you ever seen the tiniest of tiny Lalafell zipping around in a maid outfit failing a sword around- its both cute and scary at the same time

Also - Along with more Hair styles- Can we get more Viera-esque shoes - I.E. high heels please...I know you can make them SE...And thier cute rabbit feet were made for them!!!

Bonewicca feet (more for casters and melee dps) for tanks i feel fit well. Also the warg set for tanks has animalistic feet and gloves that I feel fit viera well.

Wouldn’t it be cool if this expansion had a dungeon set or job set inspired by viera?
