Im not enjoying being tiny again

This is what always trips me up.

I mostly play Dancer and something about the longer limbs of Viera works so much better for that aesthetic to me.

I looked at Elezen too and while I can deal with the tiny head, the long neck and the weird run, I don't like having to glamour around those massive, sloped linebacker shoulders.

If I could plop an Elezen head on a Viera body they'd be a lot more appealing to me, but I guess I have Stockholm Syndrome for Viera.

Height is definitely jarring when you are used to one or the other. My au ra and miqo'te are around the same height so it's not much of a change, but au ra are also petite so even then it's different.. BUT with viera if you played one for months it is super weird to go from tall to small. I've wasted fantasias to switch back to one or the other before, because I was too lazy to adjust all my glamours for the new body type.

Yeah, the wide shoulders (and their neck) make their heads look even smaller, but I distinctly remember one time I was standing next to some elezen NPC, while I was on my viera, and good God their head was so small in comparison. I hadn't really noticed until then. Probably because my viera was a similar height.

I actually play my viera at height 30. I think minimum height is too short for me, as a viera. I don't like to go taller than 30 on them either, because everything becomes enlarged with FFXIV's height slider, and you end up look gargantuan, since most people are min height catgirls, au ra, and catboys. 30 is I think slightly shorter or about the same as max height midlander males.

I actually went from Max height Female Highlander to Max height Viera...you are not as GODZILLA like as its being made to sound...
and it doesn't feel like everything is stretched either...but if you are used to playing tiny petite characters I could see how it could seem that way...if you want really jarring... go as lalafell for a while. then race change to anything taller- then it will seem more in that perspective! XD

Edited: Also Highlanders can be pretty and not look like pissed off wonder women- you just got to know how to do it~

I don’t even play at max height viera and I get a kick of just how tiny min height miqos and au ra are next to me. I don’t think I could go back to being that small full time, even though I played both races at their max heights. Really enjoy the place viera is at with size and texture- I don’t ever feel like anything gets stretched weird.

Anyone who thinks Highlander Girls are all sharp and angry never plays with one since their emotes are actually very bubbly and energetic and Fordola’s epic resting bitch face is 100% unique to her.

That said, if resting bitch face is something you want Viera face #2, Highlander face #2, Roegadyn face #2, and Midlander faces #4 and #5 can get you that look. (Re: This user who likes that.)

100% agree!! or they don't bother to use the /cpose and only stay on the balled up fist clenched to their sides so they look more like they are ready to head to a brawl! haa haa. Thats usually the number one comment I got when i was a highlander "how can you play them, they are so masculine and look like female pro wrestlers" My comment was usually "have you even seen my highlander, and two have you even tried playing in character creator or looking at thier emotes!!

I switched to Viera from thighlander ( not a typo~) because they both have that elegant but powerful female look to them. I just wish like some others have mentioned here, that /joy was a little more...emotional or has some sort of oomph to it...everything else is so expressive save that one it just seemed a little...I am gonna place my hand on my hip and expect you to know that i am happy.

Being someone who went from a max height male Roe to a max height Hroth [about a head and a half shorter] I still tower over almost everyone else... until I come across a male Au Ra or Roe to remind me how much shorter I am now

PS: I also love thighlanders, I'm surprised they're so unpopular, one would think they'd be the go-to for anyone who doesn't want to play a tiny waifu

I also love thighlanders! I tried playing one for a while but the constant fist-clutching while moving and the super over-the-top emotes were dealbreakers for me. But the proportions and faces and hairstyles are A+. I don’t find them particularly masculine and think people that do are kinda silly. Sure they aren’t super cutesy anime girls but I wouldn’t call them manly either.

Luckily for me viera give me that powerful lady fix while being more reserved, which is more my speed.
