What was the Japanese reception to Nier crossover?

In what way are they canon? They are about as canon as FFXV and FFXIII events if not less...

But... those things all literally happened in game.
They might not have the MSQ reference them, but that's not a requirement to be considered cannon.
FF14 doesn't host content that's not cannon to itself.
