Gonna shamelessly quote myself just to once again express how much I am against waifufication. We know how fond they are with the 'monster male, sexy/cute human lady' tropes, even more so than in the west.

While female Ronso have been shown, and male Hrothgar are very clearly anthropomorphic lions, rather than humans with feline features like Miqo, I still very much dread Hrothgals may be waifufied to appeal to a broader audience.

If remember correctly, they threw out a pretty beastly looking face design for male hroth because it was “too similar to miqote” so I think even if they were to “waifu” them I don’t think they’d be quite that bad, since they may as well be miqos at that point, on that very bottom pic. Especially since they can’t do digitigrade feet.

If I had to guess, I think they’ll use a slightly upscaled highlander body with a beastly head, if they repurpose models again. Really love the look of the top two here.

The whole thing kind of reminds me of the release of the Alpha Female Worgen build. It was just as beastly as the male, but sleeker/smaller. People threw a fit about it both being too feminine and not feminine enough. They ended up cobbling together a really horrible model (in 4 months) and it took Blizzard 8 or so years to give us that original concept.

I guess having lived through that is why I have such a violent, kneejerk reaction to people who want a f hrothgar to be "cute and feminine cat waifu". To quote Blizzard on this, "You think you want it, but you don't."

I also agree, the top two examples in Allegor's post are divine (also I spy those ESO Khajiit face markings and costumes, so I am very biased in liking them.)

Oof yeah, I remember that, they went from perfectly fine wolf ladies to angry chihuahuas with make up, then back to proper wolf ladies, albeit a bit more...furryesque lol (which fits the game's cartoony style so I ain't complaining there)

To be fair, some of the new face markings really sleek out the face more than others. It's still worlds better than that.. abomination..

TBH my concern is that they’ll just stick a lion head on a Femroe body and call it a day. Hrothgar males dodge this by their hunched stance and fantastic emotes to play up the big wild cat angle, but Bozja’s story has hinted that female Hrothgar have the big cat features on their heads but the artistic take wasn’t too far from Femroe otherwise.

You should know firsthand that they absolutely have no qualms about releasing a limited race, even if they are ladies.

I really, really wanna see femhroth in Zadnor. Even as a statue. Just a little tease of what they have in mind for how they would be modeled. I don’t think they will because they know we’d go feral but it’s so weird to have the story revolve around Hrothgar homeland and the queen and see nothing but a highly stylized mosaic of the females.

LOL I was thinking more of maybe they'd separate faces from hair finally if they released lady hroths. Maybe. As you said, first hand experience XD

Maybe....maybe the artwork is some teasing to what could come? High hopes, I have too much of it.

I hope they do waifu female hrothgar to some degree. I would like to see them slightly smaller and less bulky than the males. Keep the same beastly appearance but more feminine, elegance and beauty. I don't want to play a beast race where the females look similar to males.

I'd rather they didn't go with the hunched stance for either, to be honest. Playing an Undead on WoW for 15 years drove me insane with how much it ruined glamours.
