Viera and Hrothgar Megathread

I'm still shellshocked that they spent so much time fitting flowers and visors to viera and hrothgar, but slept on AF head pieces. I would think those might be a little more important.

Especially considering Red Mage was Viera-exclusive in their original game. The look is just incomplete without the fashionable red pimp hat.

(Also turbans, I am NOT going into Thavnair without a Turban. I'll hide my ears inside it, just please give them to me)

Seems like it was a quantity and time issue. With some of the af hats they would have had to figure out the hair/mane problem first before adjusting them.

The glasses and the hair pins didn’t have that issue, so the adjustments were a lot simpler to do, and they could do a ton of them.

While I do fully support hats for the new races, as a sch main...I have to admit I'm genuinely puzzled as to how the sch AF hats would work for viera. They're literally the worst shape possible for their ear placement. Would be fine on hrothgar though.

As for flowers and visors the answer is simple; they don't cover the head. Adjusting those is significantly easier and quicker than hats.

Yea well not fulfilling this promise literally means hrothgar and viera are constantly excluded from rewards in the game. A smn not having egi glamour doesn't exclude them from being able to use any reward in the game. Every single time patch content is released there is a lot we cannot use that everyone else can. That's not even an exaggeration. This isn't some small promise that can easily be forgotten about. We're constantly given reminders of how limited our races are.

Oh Im not saying completely forgo your expectations. My expectation on something for my Hroth main and viera alts are still there, but right now Im just tempering my expectations on the slight possibility that they either give us something half-assed, make hroth or viera pay for their new customization options, or just not give anything at all. It'll make me hate myself less rather than building myself up for the hype just to be sorely disappointed in the end

I mean...they keep updating crap like Mahjong and triple triad (Not sure how many people actually use it, but the resources for that could have definitely been used to update something in the game that actually affects a portion of the playerbase), so since they prioritize mahjong and triple triad over these limited races, its the reason why my expectations are low, even though I desperately want it

I'm really grateful the devs improvised them wearing tiaras, glasses, masks and stuff (I LOVE my horns), but I'd like it if they could fine tune it just a liiiiittle more, specially some of the circlets

What I find a little troubling is that with the reveal of Sage, the Lala can obviously be seen wearing the Sage's AF head piece, but the Viera is NOT wearing it....even though its a drawn picture of a viera next to the actual model of a lala...and the sage piece is a LITERAL HEADBAND. I remember when I saw this for the reveal of sage, my expectations for more headgear was kind of blown out of the water

I’ve seen it pointed out that the official art for classes almost never shows the head piece. I’m not worried about that particular headpiece not working- I think it will. The lala has it because it’s an actual in-game model.

As for fine tuning Hroth headpieces...yikes I forgot it was that bad. They def should make an attempt to adjust it.
These races seriously need some TLC now that the big rush to push them out is two years behind us.

I honestly hope so. Im sure they dont have a single big team of people doing stuff and its more than likely that they have lots of little teams doing all types of things, but thats just...so lazy for hroths...especially considering that the tiara looks like it would fit perfectly on a hrothface (what is the name of it? I have to test it out on my Viera) They've had two years to do this and since we're coming up on a presumably huge content draught after 5.55 (which im predicting will be somewhere around mid-may),m they have those months to do some TLC for hroth and viera before EW (HA...ew) launches

It’s the tiara for healer from Sigmascape I’m pretty sure, though I forget what it’s called.

And yeah. I hope the team(s?) that handled the races are able to use that time they spent on them last expansion on now bringing these races up to standard. Or at least giving us a more equal playing field if they’re going to insist they have to be “special”. Maybe even a few extras for the cc in general. Not a whole rework but a few things people have been asking for like highlander brows and whatnot.

Just something to give some life to the crusty cc. But viera and hroth first.
