Viera and Hrothgar Megathread

Putting them all in the mog station would be a fantastic way to get enormous backlash. I seriously doubt that would happen. At most we would see only -some- end up there.

It’s not like I think SE is my best friend but I don’t think they would sink that low. I could see them prioritizing making mogstation hair work before other legacy hair, but that’s about it. I kinda assumed they were gonna do that from the getgo anyway.

I'd be fine with them adjusting current mog station hair first before other hair that is obtained in game. What wouldn't be fine is adding new hrothgar and viera options to only the mog station while every other race doesn't need to go there to get new appearance options. It would be beyond a slap in the face.

And honestly beyond a really big slap for Hrothgar that already have to pay to change their hair. I don't believe they will do this unless they really want people to stop playing the races....what a waste of money that would be.

Why would you think it would be tied to mogstation? In what capacity?

Based off what I recall they did mention the new races would get unique hair, a part of me thinks while it may not be The devs team desire they will test the waters with putting the options on the mog station and while the forum outcry would be massive I suspect it would still be a net positive for SE in terms of revenue gain. At least that is how I would go about getting an cosmetic option added to the game when they have been on record saying budget was one of the reasons they are limited in the first place. In the form of hours or money.

It would be a slap in the face but people would eat it up. Vocal people would be against it but in this case I do think people would buy them cause they want the added options.

Viera hair and hrothgar faces would logically be 'free' updates, not exclusively obtained via mogstation, I think. I don't really see them doing premium hrothgar faces anyway. There just aren't enough hairstyles currently available to viera to warrant it really, and having the mogstation team work on hairstyles every other race can use seems like a better use of their time.

In my eyes i just do not see them putting in that much effort into giving unique hairstyles without a payoff. Unless they release the new hair styles with every playable race in mind. Then maybe, but that would not be very unique in my opinion. I know I personally would buy new hrothgar hair / face styles off the mog station if they were to my liking.

They add new hairstyles for everyone else for free in game. I see no reason why they’d suddenly need any more payoff than normal to do the same for viera and hrothgar. They’d make some money on fantasias, and they’d increase player satisfaction which cannot be overlooked. Not everything has to be a direct monetary transaction for it to be a worthy pursuit for a company.

Sometimes updates must be made for the overall health of your product. Even if this seems like an insignificant problem to some, it is very much a glaring issue to a lot of players. Live Letter Twitch chat/ YT chat, Twitter, Reddit, the forums- pretty much any platform where people discuss the game, there are a tons of people very vocally unhappy with this situation. It would be in their best interest to make good on their promise to do what they can to alleviate it without further ostracizing these players by milking them for cash directly.

They would be better off doing a lot of things, while you have faith and I hope you guys are right I just do not share the same level of faith. I also speak just from my perspective since I am one of those people that would buy the cosmetic options off the mog station. Sure I would be salty but I would still buy it, and I think those behind the financials know that people like myself do exist and I do think we are not that are far off in the minority.

As I said I hope you guys are right not holding my breath and I would not be shocked if they went down this route putting the options on the mog station.

I'm still shellshocked that they spent so much time fitting flowers and visors to viera and hrothgar, but slept on AF head pieces. I would think those might be a little more important.
