Viera and Hrothgar Megathread

In my eyes i just do not see them putting in that much effort into giving unique hairstyles without a payoff. Unless they release the new hair styles with every playable race in mind. Then maybe, but that would not be very unique in my opinion. I know I personally would buy new hrothgar hair / face styles off the mog station if they were to my liking.

They add new hairstyles for everyone else for free in game. I see no reason why they’d suddenly need any more payoff than normal to do the same for viera and hrothgar. They’d make some money on fantasias, and they’d increase player satisfaction which cannot be overlooked. Not everything has to be a direct monetary transaction for it to be a worthy pursuit for a company.

Sometimes updates must be made for the overall health of your product. Even if this seems like an insignificant problem to some, it is very much a glaring issue to a lot of players. Live Letter Twitch chat/ YT chat, Twitter, Reddit, the forums- pretty much any platform where people discuss the game, there are a tons of people very vocally unhappy with this situation. It would be in their best interest to make good on their promise to do what they can to alleviate it without further ostracizing these players by milking them for cash directly.

Sturmchurro has the right of it that they’d be better off selling cosmetics made for everyone than appealing to just viera and hrothgar.

They would be better off doing a lot of things, while you have faith and I hope you guys are right I just do not share the same level of faith. I also speak just from my perspective since I am one of those people that would buy the cosmetic options off the mog station. Sure I would be salty but I would still buy it, and I think those behind the financials know that people like myself do exist and I do think we are not that are far off in the minority.

As I said I hope you guys are right not holding my breath and I would not be shocked if they went down this route putting the options on the mog station.

I'm still shellshocked that they spent so much time fitting flowers and visors to viera and hrothgar, but slept on AF head pieces. I would think those might be a little more important.

Especially considering Red Mage was Viera-exclusive in their original game. The look is just incomplete without the fashionable red pimp hat.

Seems like it was a quantity and time issue. With some of the af hats they would have had to figure out the hair/mane problem first before adjusting them.

The glasses and the hair pins didn’t have that issue, so the adjustments were a lot simpler to do, and they could do a ton of them.

While I do fully support hats for the new races, as a sch main...I have to admit I'm genuinely puzzled as to how the sch AF hats would work for viera. They're literally the worst shape possible for their ear placement. Would be fine on hrothgar though.

As for flowers and visors the answer is simple; they don't cover the head. Adjusting those is significantly easier and quicker than hats.

What I find a little troubling is that with the reveal of Sage, the Lala can obviously be seen wearing the Sage's AF head piece, but the Viera is NOT wearing it....even though its a drawn picture of a viera next to the actual model of a lala...and the sage piece is a LITERAL HEADBAND. I remember when I saw this for the reveal of sage, my expectations for more headgear was kind of blown out of the water

I'm really grateful the devs improvised them wearing tiaras, glasses, masks and stuff (I LOVE my horns), but I'd like it if they could fine tune it just a liiiiittle more, specially some of the circlets

I’ve seen it pointed out that the official art for classes almost never shows the head piece. I’m not worried about that particular headpiece not working- I think it will. The lala has it because it’s an actual in-game model.

As for fine tuning Hroth headpieces...yikes I forgot it was that bad. They def should make an attempt to adjust it.
These races seriously need some TLC now that the big rush to push them out is two years behind us.
