What was the Japanese reception to Nier crossover?

NieR has loose connections to Drakengard. The red girl is a big throwback to one of the main antagonists who is in turn one of the vessels to the evil gods of Drakengard series.

Those who are big fans of the series will always smile whenever they see anything related to "lalalala the watchers laugh lalalala"

Very little complaint so far, but it's there.

But smaller. Might not be a bad addition to the OP of that thread, to be honest, just to show that it's not just an issue here. Change has a better chance of happening if an issue gains enough traction.

Oh they have metrics they can measure with respect to participation. The fact of the matter is this forum and other are basically filled with people complaining about everything. It's not a metric that is representative of the general population for sure in my humble opinion.



That is a pretty good metric for them. Certainly not someone who posts a thread and states "So the NA reception to the Nier raids seem to be mostly negative" as if that is some sort of fact because that is what they want to believe.

Well a Forum is there for these things because there is no other way to tell them what we like or did not like. So of course you will find more people here complaining but saying that they could ignore those is imo wrong. We have Diadem, we have Eureka, we even had the huge outcry about Shirogane housing. The Forum might be a bit more on the negative side but so far it has often been quite the good indicator on when something is not seen as good content.

I mean people running it once or a couple of time does not mean that they like it. It could mean that the rewards for it are enough to make people do it. Just look at Eureka: How will they ever know why people ran that? A lot here on the forum only did it because the relic was tied to it but did not enjoy it, other people enjoyed it for itself. Others just ran it to get the mounts. SE just looks at the numbers of people running it and say that its a successful and fun content and will use that for future content without understanding it at all.

Also if you do enjoy the content than that it fine. I for example really enjoyed playing through the FF13 series and yet I know that at least on the internet people complain about it a lot. And that is fine too. Everyone has their right to write their opinion. Does not mean that I will enjoy it less because of that. (I really get the feeling that way too many people let their enjoyment of something being taken away just because not everyone loves it.)

I am also not a fan of this "NA loves to complain stuff..." first we are not all from NA here and such words just take down the opinions of those who post criticism, because no matter how deeply thought out their posts are they are again just complaints and thus bad according to some here.

Please just remember that this is not a fanpage from users but the official forum from the game thus the only place we can say what we think. Also remember that people that take their time to write their thoughts dont do it to punish someone but because in most cases they love the game and want it to be better. And if its all too negative here be the change and create interesting positive topics. If people see it the same way they will post in them too.

It doesn't mean they didn't like it either. The fact of the matter is one can't really say if they did or didn't other than participation and people do content for lots of reasons. To assume they didn't like it does what exactly? Seems some are ready to make that assumption based on their own personal feelings.

No one said it's a fan page and people are certainly allowed to state their feelings and opinions good or bad on anything here. They certainly do. It's just when they try and use their opinions as if they represent the community as a whole I have a problem with it. There is certainly no evidence that the majority of the NA community didn't like the content. I'm not going to belabor the issue I've made my feeling known on the matter and repeating it doesn't need to be done. It's the only reason why i responded to this thread to begin with. I personally enjoyed the series and hope we'll see more with the weekly quest.

There is a 15 page alliance discussion thread that has been going since 2019 and now is onto the latest for the final page and a half. It's fairly slow and quiet. Almost all are comments on the raid being enjoyable even for those who don't know the story. A few small comments about the drops, and a few wishes for other things they would have liked.

Edit: to say that mostly the Japanese side is well behaved and doesn't have the vigorous discussion we get here. I think our English speaking European friends have also said a few times their language forums are a bit quiet.

Obviously I don't speak for all the jp fanbase, but some of English-speaking jp players on my fc don't like/have lukewarm reception of nier raid. Kinda surprising since jp usually like all of things that's a Japanese product.
