Level 35 Paladin quest is literally impossible

Most days it seems like the mods are doing this...



I don't put much faith in their ability to keep this place even remotely orderly.

Its quite sad when you are bad at a hobby and crying about it in the forums, rather than finding a solution to said problem.
Either you didn't understand the mechanics of the fight or your gear is super low. The gear scales significantly early on. The monsters do a lot more damage with a gear below 10 levels already. This includes all type of content, your dungeon runs wont be different if you dont gear up properly.

To be fair, they have strong track record of stepping in and removing anything that is outright illegal.

Any site is likely to attract those who want to cause trouble, be it in an obvious or subtle manner. Eradicating people based on patterns of behaviour will just lead to the truly committed to change their patterns to reflect the updates rules and enforcement of them.

I still, personally, find this place to be a lot friendlier and more tolerable than certain other places where players seek to discuss the game. Reddit and Twitter, for example, are much more outright aggressive.

Personally if someone is suspected of not posting in good faith then the best approach is...to just not respond to their posts or threads. In which case, said threads would fall off of the front page rather quickly.

The other side of the coin, of course, is that there's some players who belief someone to be a 'troll' simply for having a different opinion or posting style to them. Add in the potential language barrier and culture shocks as applicable and...well, it'd be pretty hard to identify 'patterns of behaviour' and ban people on that basis.

The ringtails are monsters in the overworld yeah? If your chocobo fails you, you could ask a high level friend to come one shot them for you :P

So even if it were impossible for PLD by itself at 35, you could ask for outside aid, since it's not even trapped in an instance.

The thing is, I am 100% perfectly sure that the person creating this thread is not serious at all. This is all just a thread created to troll. They just want to piss people off, because they don't have anything better to do in their life except seeking some misguided acknowledgment about their trolling.

I do remember some GLA/PLD stuff being a bit hard, but that was me IIRC, not the quests per se. I may not have been so well geared, it was my first tank, etc. Am going through same story on an alt at the moment, and keeping my gear nice(ish, the levelling goes so fast it's not always a big deal) and not running into any problems I had the first time. My experience did indeed teach me well, as the shrine in Diablo II used to tell me.

I struggled a bit when I started to play and found some ARR job quest difficult (Was first playing as WAR.)
Gear up will solve the problem, getting a chocobo will solve the problem, it's an MMO there's many tools at your disposition, use them.

Kinda wish I could find some story quests difficult these days. It's always good to struggle a bit against something epic, always leave a good memory.
Man, I miss SB epic finale.

Suggestion: After failing, read the chat from start of the duty to the point of fail.

Failing a job quest mostly happens because you did something not as intended.

When there is something to pay attention, the NPCs will say it and this will be stored in the chat log.

I'm curious as to how you're having so many problems. If I were to hazard a guess either you're not doing it right or your gear is not sufficient, but it doesn't require you to over level. I mean there is no shame in being new and inexperienced and people can of course help, but it is not that they game is too difficult or at fault. And seeing that you have SMN at 80, I expect you'll have already done harder content than this, so either your gear is not in check, you misunderstand something about the quest (or paladin) or you're trolling.
