They will only listen to their participation numbers. It sucks a lot for me that I won't have a full Eureka or Bozja weapon, but I refuse to contribute to their participation numbers and give them the illusion that we want this and they should keep going on this path. That is the only thing that will make them listen to the feedback.
SQEX has already stated that they're happy with the way Bozja has turned out, and that the content has been more populated than they'd surmised.
i still have umbrite ptsdThe Relic weapon questlines have always been their own special kind of a pain-in-the-butt. Just remember the ARR Relic weapon questlines had the Titan Hardmode roadblock; which at the time, was really frick'n hard for a lot of people.
Titan was so problematic for a good portion of the community that competitive raiding Guilds like PainTrain would do paid-runs so people could get their Relic quest done. While there were a few other guilds like Celestial that would do free runs on the weekends.
If I had to choose the past or the future of how Relic's are done, I'd go with Bonzja and Eureka all the way.
The onliest, what you MUST do in Bozja is
- rank up -> can be done solo
- do the quest line -> can be done solo
- one time Castrum -> Just "/s Lfg" after entering
- one time Delubrum -> groups will get formed automatically
For everything else you have alternatives outside of Bozja.
1. relic step: Tomes -> Dungeons/Roulettes
2. relic step: Fates in Heavensward areas (100% drop rate)
3. relic step: Fates in Stormblood areas (100% drop rate)
4. relic step: 2.x - 24 man raids (100% drop rate)
5. relic step: 3.x - 24 man raids (100% drop rate)
6. relic step: Palace of death

I believe Bozja popularity went beyond their expectation (which is why we have Duel problems).
They have many lessons to remember such as the coins, the upgradable gear.
Gameplay wise they completely learned from Eureka, mount at the beginning, avoidable random monster on the map, being immortal with smart uses of resources.
Critical engagement are fun, to discover and to redo, to a certain limit.
I really hope EW relic will continue onto the "We remake the same thing but with what we learned previously". I mean, anyone enjoyed running the same dungeon for nearly 100 runs for a relic step?
Really if the next relic step is such a pain - and Bozja continues to suck - with how burned out I am, currently that will kill the game probably almost leading to the release of EW for me.

Every single form of the Relic grind from ARR to ShB requires group content and time and paitience, as well as dealing with the older steps while the bulk of the player base are on the current. Its a sad reality of an MMO.
The relic step with the Stormblood fates is not a 100% drop rate, but it is decent enough considering that you only have to do that step once ever, and you can skip it for any relic weapon you want after the first (it's better then doing the same amount of Ivalice raid runs, that's for sure).The onliest, what you MUST do in Bozja is

And next year when no one is running these new players are just screwed?

Not soloable.
6. relic step: Palace of death
POTD has a terrible drop rate under floor 100. A bad drop rate from 100-150, and then decent from 150-200.
Getting to floor 100 requires a few hours of work. A full 200 run requires a full day for most people. And that part can't be solod by 99% of the playerbase.
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
