    No, it is an internal issue at NTT, an earlier post showed a Comcast 7.9 percent Packetloss, while an NTT internal was 44.8, followed by a direct other NTT Internal at 3.2 on top of that. So yes, while Comcast could be better, NTT, the Company that is not only Square Enix's Provider, but also where their Datacenters seem to be houses, is mostly to blame.

    I just wanted to post this here aside from general discussion. It's a bandaid and this still needs to be looked into; however, Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 fixed my lag and it's free. I feel like FFXIV has had issues with particular DNS services from various ISPs in the past. If you wanna download it, it's here: https://1.1.1.1/

    Talked to my gf and she said that this lag getting really bad coincides with the day that Outriders' online servers launched (another SE MMO). It appears that SE wasnt able to account for the massive amount of two online playerbases when they set up their network with NTT. (Recall when SE underestimated how many people would be logging in to play Stormblood, thus we got Rabahn EX).

    Help me out here... in this particular case why would a VPN make any difference? I'm not trying to say anyone here is wrong, I believe them. Just for my own understanding.
    If your net traffic still needs to go from point A to point B, and NTT is still in that path, and so is Comcast because it is your "hop" in and out of the house, how does a VPN alleviate the current problem?

    Not all NTT servers are having issues, it looks like. As long as your VPN routes you through a different server than a problem one, it'll fix the lag.

    There's something wrong with one of the nodes in the default route.
    I can't pretend to understand exactly how it works, but I use a VPN that routes traffic through Los Angeles and it fixes the problem every night.

    Same problem. Comcast. Central Indiana. Game is basically unplayable. So far of the games I play FFXIV is the only one affected though so I don't know what to make of it. Everything else is running fine and I have no packet loss to various things I ping through cmd prompt.

    Having every class to 50 is end game, also crafting the best gear in game is end game, maxing out you choco comanion is end game as well.
