Delubrum Reginae Savage groups - way too exclusive and toxic

Why is this relegated to forming groups on a third party application like Discord? The folks in these discords openly discuss third party tools, the exclusivity, and its just overall toxic. Why can't a group be formed outside of third party tools? We all know, if you create a party finder, unless you post in the toxic Discord groups it wont fill. This isn't fun, or working as intended.

This is exactly how it was intended. A "savage" version of an alliance raid is obviously going to want voice chat for coordination and I can't imagine this escaped their notice when developing it. It's also pretty obvious that discord is the software of choice for that right now.

But technically they can be formed in party finder so if you want to avoid these discord groups, it's on you to find this many people another way. You could create some cross-world linkshells and recruit into them through Party Finder and the Community Finder.

It was not that long ago Discord didn't exist and i played on a JPN only server on XI and we would put together 48 mans for various high tier content. I think you are missing the point.

While I can't comment on toxicity, it's irrelevant that discord didn't exist and that you put 48 mans together back in XI. The technology exists today and it exponentially helps the rate of success for hard content like Delubrum Savage, why would it be hard to understand that people adapt to whatever is the most convenient for them? People flocked to guilds, linkshells, etc in ye olde days because it increased their chances at clearing stuff. Discord is just an evolution of it.

Also not sure what you mean by exclusivity. Can't comment on the primal discords, but the aether BA discord routinely does learning runs for Delubrum Savage that anyone can sign up for. Unless you're referring to the various big groups that have already cleared it and simply want to re-clear with relative ease; in which case, you can't fault them for not wanting to waste time bringing newer people when their intent is to get expedited re-clears.

Generalizing all discord groups as "toxic" is kind of silly because the ones I've been in explicitly tried to eliminate people who were being obnoxious or otherwise not being much of a team player.

Nothing wrong with discord it's actually a wonderful thing to help organize content like this. It worked beautifully for BA. Sorry it's not your thing but I'm looking forward to getting into a discord clear/learning group at some point. And no one openly discussed 3rd party tools and I have 8 toons with clears both on aether and crystal for BA.

I'll agree it's not needed for Castrum or Delubrum normal but for savage I think it's the best way to go.

I am guessing the OP is not referring to the use of discord as a tool to communicate which is totally fine and more about the fact that they use it to say things that would get them banned ingame such as making third party tools mandatory, linking dps meters and since it is usual for tryhards, probably speak in a manner that would get them banned if they spoke in such a way in the ingame chats.

It sounds like it is being used to avoid the ToS since the devs do not control discord therefore they can’t check it like they do the game’s chats unless they allow discord screenshots as proof for a report

Wasn't used for BA. I can't speak for other venues but there was never any discussion that i could see about that or any other 3rd party tools in any of the groups I participated in. The main advantage of the BA groups was the organization and the callouts and trying to coordinate lost actions as needed. Was basically a good teaching venue for those interested in the content.
