So the other day I had completed the Omega raid series on an alt, and felt pretty good about myself. A couple days ago I saw a PF opening looking for help in getting Mustard Bomb and P. Synthesis, something I needed on all of my blus, but one at a time.

I join up, and eventually the party fills. No one steps forward to tank, causing me to eventually step up and tank...as BLU. Joy. I get my hotbar set up to tank, three other BLUs in the party can res. Four of them are full mentors, including the PT maker. Great, I thought, what could go wrong?

Oh holy f*cking sh*t everything went sideways from the start. First Mustard Bomb I was too slow to cast my Gate and immediately got nuked. I get ressed, get aggro back, and we continue to work on him, getting to the dps check with a few deaths because 'lol what's Starboard/Larboard mechanics?'. There was one blu at the bottom of the list that always seemed dead, but we clear the dps check. Neato! Delta Attack goes off and half the party gets exploded. wat? The healers raise whoever they could since Whisper is a long cooldown, we bring Omega down to 24% and suddenly 4 people and I get exploded and have no idea what happened. We wipe.

It was then I decided to look at the party and some of the OH GOD WHY DOES THAT BLU AT THE BOTTOM OF THE LIST HAVE 24K HP? I look at them and realize why: Two of their highest pieces are the 370 Ivalican raid gear, the rest was a mishmash of 53-60 stuff. No wonder they couldn't live. I sigh inwardly and have the healers Gobshield us up before I pull again. More deaths but at least I was able to not immediately die to the tankbuster, but people were still dying to Starboard/Larboard, even though I pointed it out at the very start of the run. We manage to crawl to the dps check to where I see the 24k hp blu make a madlad dash to the blue stuff and suicide in it. We make it past the second round dps check, but again we end up wiping because people still don't understand mechanics.

Third and fourth wipes were about the same, and in-between the second wipe and third pull two of the mentors started to argue in party chat, one saying something about the other's damage being so high at the start, and then it devolved into one speaking up for me after I had asked as to what happened on the third wipe and if I needed to do something about keeping the boss in the middle. Since it had become quite obvious people still don't understand why I had said at the start of Starboard being Omega's RIGHT and Larboard being Omega's LEFT, people kept dying to it even after the fourth wipe.

Eventually the party chat devolved even further to 'if you can't do your main job don't bother trash talking' and other assorted junk. 5 people left the instance, leaving me, the pt lead and one other person bewildered as to what just happened. We left the instance thinking we probably should just swap to a couple other base jobs to get the spells, but then those same 5 people just immediately dropped, including the 24k hp blu.

The amount of salt those mentors had. PT lead got frustrated, but she asked if we wanted to go again. Sure, I said, as I'm always up for more S&M--I mean trying again and having patience. Eventually she put up another PF and it got filled, someone came as a whm and BAM, we cleared in the first go. Eventually we went on to get the rest of the spells from the Omega raids and the PT lead finally got her 104/104, so congrats to her!

As for those who argued and made themselves look stupid: have some f*cking patience. Only one person, which was me, volunteered to tank, while the rest of you guys went healer/dps. You should have known we needed two tanks for this in case I died to a tankbuster no one healed me for, which was about 20% of the fight. Having to Gate and pray that I didn't get exploded immediately afterwards is very butthole-clenching. And the one that said that blu tanking was garbage, don't even bother suggesting that everyone remain blu to complete a log when we were wiping, as we clearly had problems just to get two spells from that one raid. Yes, you even made me think I was doing something very wrong, when people were dying to mechanics they should have been able to dodge or drop everything and move for.

*sigh* the things I do for my alts.

Healer: Tank you are too far ahead could not keep up.

    Tank: Did you use sprint?

    Healer: What is that?

    Tank has left the party.

Is this at mid-level/high-level dungeon or at beginning dungeon? And is the Healer a sprout or not?

If this happens to me while I am a tank I would just laugh and explain. I mean, it's amusing.

Some people need to chill a little, methinks.

This was a level 60 dungeon at the start. I mean I was rather chill I just left to avoid any potential headaches. Yes they were a sprout but to go that many levels without knowing what sprint was at that point either they were trolling or just that green despite being level 60. Either way not my cup of tea.

Understandable. I wouldn't leave, and most probably just chuckle about it, but I suppose I wouldn't fault anyone leaving in that circumstance.

I would have to point out the quite obvious difference between someone clearly unfamiliar with a job and someone who merely forgot something, the dancer in that example was clearly unfamiliar and didn’t know you could do that, if that person merely forgot they would have used the dance, though preferably on another dancer just so we can see some people foam xD

Which is exactly why I am here to remind people that this is a video game and any tryhard telling you what to do is in the wrong and you are completely within your rights to ignore them and play the way you feel comfortable, ESPECIALLY in roulettes and pugs such as these.

Which is the mentality I intend to keep promoting

The tryhard elitist is the person who is going to finish their 5 pieces on this created to be beaten """"challenge"""" and then complaint that the baby, slower or less dexterous person are a problem which not only is toxic but indirectly implies that doing this basic created to be beaten task faster is an """achievement""" of """great skill""" which helps to falsely boost the elitist's self worth as that is their true motive, if challenge was truly their desire they would relish in the chance to do more than the rest.
The healthy person on the other hand will either let people finish their part or assist them for their self worth does not depend on solving basic puzzles created to be beaten, aka as a video game.

On the flip side, if you take the time to explain to people things they're missing or doing horribly improperly, and they respond like you just insulted their whole lineage. You are well within your right to kick that person from your party. Cause this is a game meant for enjoyment, by all parties in a group. Therefore if someone lessons the fun of the group then the only answer is to let them be free and return them to the single player experience they clearly enjoy most.

Like the pure healer in Halatali who responded "NAH" when my friend explained that things die faster if they use damaging skills instead of standing around 95% of the time.

So legit question. At what point is someone no longer considered "unfamiliar"? Im not calling anyone names, im not trying to judge anyone. Im curious how long someone gets to claim that.
