Yeah the only kind of subtle ones were 007 and especially the Spiderman one.
It *could* be very on the nose or very subtle.

Would say only Spiderman one was not on the nose. There were wild theorycrafting (just like now), but very early on most predicted it being machinist, because of using a gun and gadgets. Samurai was the only strange one, even though a lot of people predicted it early on pretty easily with all other ideas being even more far fetched.
