He is talking about the casino/mini-game area for post 2.0. Should be getting named Golden Saucer. True Story.

I would love it if they created an Island and called it Besaid so that we could finally get all the people from that server into the same area at once and then blow the docks and all forms of transportation for that island for good. Also some sort of device the prevents returning or porting.
Did I mention the Island would have no wireless internet? (KIDDING BESAIDIANS!!! You can have interweb)
Also, if they bring anything back, I hope they bring back the card game from 8.

whoa whoa, speculation is fine, but some of you are getting WAY too ahead of yourselves, I think lol. I'm more inclined to think the translation is funky.

Gilgamesh better be a lock, since he would actually make sense popping up in Eorzea. Now as for fighting other well known FF bosses (not central story characters though), i'd be up for that. I'm sure they'll use the names for specific locations, but nothing like an entire Midgar or Baron being put into the game as a 100% representation.

Yes.It sounded to me like they would be adding more stuff like the Crystal Tower (which was from FF3). Since the Void is a thing in FF14 maybe we will get an area that homages FF5's final dungeon, hopefully with the sweet music.
Yes yes yes.
I'm hearing the people wanting all of the content to be original, and I'm kinda with you, IF they can make it as fun. Take parley for example, it was original but it's incredibly boring, one of the old card games would have been much better.
And basing something off an old idea might not be bad. Going back to the old card games, if they used FF14 characters and touched the rules up for them to accommodate it being on an online game then it could actually be quite fun.
And back to the visiting classic worlds idea, this reminds me of something they sort of had in dragon quest 9. DQ9 had a bonus dungeon system that let you fight 2 bosses from each of the previous DQ games, and when you beat one there was a chance of getting a piece of armor from that game. I think it'd be cool to have bcnms like that with FF bosses but this is FFXIV after all, if the devs even hinted at the idea a riot would surely follow.

Or maybe Vana'diel is in FFXIV but on a continent on the other side of the world. How great would that be?!
There is actually a timeline somewhere that shows that some of the FF games take place in the same worlds but in the past and future, and shows that some of the worlds have crossed dimensions before and affected each other.
I saw it in a gaming magazine around when FFXII came out.

Give me an Echo of the far past Altepa when it was a Grand Kingdom in a lush oasis and Roegadyn's still had tails.
