Yeah, if a wipe is imminent or if it takes more time to clear with who's left standing than it would be to just reset the fight, I will just jump off. lol I guess some people like showing off though. It's a way to stroke their own ego.Yeah, that's not impressive, just obnoxious. That is beyond tedious and no fun for anyone, really. If I'm tanking and a similar situation occurs, I reset the damn fight. Imagine if they didn't even manage to down the boss? Good job boys, you wasted everyones time, including your own! Well done!
Finished another relic from DR spams, hence my break naturally leads me back to my previous dailies...
Fresh from Expert Roulette: Matoya's Relict as a WHM, tagging along with my FCmate (GNB)
In this capstone (80) dungeon, roulette graces us with the presence of two individuals:And of course they won all the loots I sorely need to replenish my company seals... Thankfully it's just an Expert Roulette.
- First timer DRG who gears themselves with 11 neat pieces of exarchic set, missing only 1 ring being neo ishgardian, but does not know how to AoE. Hey, at least they are not bad in bosses they're up against for first time.
- A regular MCH that only knows [Flamethrower] as their AoE skill vs mob pulls while also using it at maximum reach, effectively missing bunch of mobs. Finish spraying? Back to 1-2-3 combo they go! Oh and for some reason have some kind of fatal attraction toward 2nd boss AoEs and proceed to murder themselves with it. The sight of [Bioblaster] debuff icon on boss were also hard to miss at times.
Yeah it really depends.
There have been times as PLD I've had to solo the end of dungeon or even normal mode raid fights, but while it's fine to do that to finish off a boss, nobody wants to sit around for 10-15 minutes or longer watching you whittle down the boss.
My favorite such moment was actually doing O12 farming for glamour pieces, I got to solo the last 5% or so of Omega F when the rest of the party went down. (Which isn't as much as it sounds due to the hp pool split in the last phase.) It also happened a few times in particular at the last boss of the 4.1 sunken city dungeon whose name escapes me.
Got called Toxic again today for asking why a level 80 BLM was spamming Fire 3 during alliance raid. Syrcus tower. Cause that and Labyrinth is all thats in there anymore lately.
I noticed their rotation of Blizz 3, Thunder 3, Fire 3 spam, stand around till have enough MP for Blizz again. right on the first boss.
Which I asked. prompting my co-healer to ask why I didn't shield everyone (Only myself) for Ancient flare while I was over at one of the light towers with a purple ball the game decided to give me while it was casting flare. Range is not a thing people. RANGE IS NOT A THING! Pfft.
Apparently NO ONE else in my party knew fire 3 spam was wrong. as the BLM argues that literally the 50 rotation and that I was the wrong one "You can be wrong, just let it go, bro." -Queue groan- Instead I got called toxic, "lol It's crystal tower" "its not that deep" ....Sadly I think that person was the same white knight I had a few months ago with my AOEing RDM in WoD story. cause the name is achingly familiar..
I get it... its 50 content... easy as hell... DO YOUR JOB so we can get out of this "easy sh*t" faster, yes?
PS. BLM was bottom aggro every fight. with their obviously correct rotation....

As much as it might have annoyed me seeing someone do something THAT wrong with their job, I probably would have kept my mouth shut and went about my business. "lol It's crystal tower" isn't entirely wrong. What also makes people go faster is no drama. That one BLM wasn't holding the group back. Were they performing a proper rotation? No. But they were never going to make or break the raid. This isn't me defending them, this is me saying that you probably made a bigger deal out of it than most were willing to put up with in an already faceroll raid. There's a time and place for calling people out (at the risk of being talked back to no matter how nice you may be about it, or worse), but that time and place isn't Syrcus Tower.Got called Toxic again today for asking why a level 80 BLM was spamming Fire 3 during alliance raid. So what time and place is that okay? Looking through some of the posts here. the same kinda stuff happens even in EXPERT roulette. As much as it might have annoyed me seeing someone do something THAT wrong with their job, I probably would have kept my mouth shut and went about my business. If you ignore it at a lower level. it will continue. If you don't want to do the content. don't queue for it. I get its easy. as I said. I'd like to get out of it faster too, and watching them play like they clearly don't care. I'm going to say something. Why? Cause I can. Alternatively. I can keep my mouth shut and let it fester instead. Not healthy. I should ignore it.. I know I should. But... can't. I see it.. and I can't stop seeing it.
Had yet another WHM in AV not do anything other than cure 1 and maybe a cure 2 every 30 seconds, and cast stone 2 a total of 5 times. I died, they died, everyone died. I asked what went wrong (because maybe I missed something stupid, maybe I did a dumb thing, maybe they were too focused on something else, a thousand things couldve happened!)
they said "don't look at me, I'm not the one who rushed into everything before I could react". (This was against maybe 6 monsters, that square room right before the 2nd to last thing you've got to do? You know, the room where you quite literally cannot avoid anything because of how the mobs are laid out?)
I then responded with a quick "i mean more than a cure 2 every 30 secs would help but u know. /shrug" And got the most sarcastic "who kept your a** alive up until this point, huh?" at which point point they held the group up by staying somewhere extremely far away, (their dot was pale blue on the map). We had to wait on them, they started curing more than once every 30 secs, and this is where the stone 2's started coming in, everything was fine, so I said "see? more than a cure every 30 secs, and i'm not ded"
got a cheerful "oh f*** off" in response.
needless to say, i'm definitely going to run squadrons in there from now on. it's ALWAYS WHM that do this.
