The only major dragons we know are Midgardsormr and Hraesvelgr. Hraesvelgr openly wants nothing to do with the mortal races anymore; he only aided us against Nidhogg because Midgardsormr directly asked him to, and then he returned to Zenith and his isolation (he reappears at the end of Alphascape, but again, Middy asked him for the favor, and again, he takes off afterwards). Midgardsormr used up the last of his power to save the WoL from Omega at the end of the Sigmascape, and one of the Tales From the Shadows indicates that, while he's watching the world, he won't wake up again for a century or more.

Dragons are not interested in being dragged into the conflicts of man. Without a direct threat to their interests/territory, they're not going to get involved.

Especially when that human expert was actually merged with the Shade of Nidhogg for some time. Lunar Bahamut appears to be more egi-like than dragon-like (appears to obey Fandaniel's will as an example). Estinien's personal experience with both dragon and primal aspects could give him better insight.

If we did need to turn to the dragons for information, Tiamat would be a better choice as consort of Bahamut and party to the Ascians reviving him as a primal. I'm actually hoping she is involved in the story at some point.

You do make some good points here, and re-watching some of the HW & DragonsWar cutscene's does reinforce this. Thinkign about it, you're also right about Estinien... he's personally been merged with the thoughts of a Dragon of the 1st Brood. Also Tiamat is another... I actually forgot about her (for shame! as she is one of the few NPC's whose story makes me sad).

That it true about Hraesvelgr. Even after ending the DragonSong War he still wanted as little to do with Humans as possible, still mourning what humans had done in the past. He acted on our behalf in the end due to us showing persewrverance & hope, and a direct appeal from his father. So yeah, TBH upon thinking about it... I doubt he'd have anything to say.

The other dragons are all of his brood, so lesser dragons. They might have some info or advice... but how would that compare/help? The only other major 1st brood dragon we know is Tiamat... who might potentially play some part in this situation.
