Predictions for job(s) in the next expansion?

After catching up on this thread, I'm now concerned that we will have another male Viera or dancer as healer problem, if the new melee dps isn't a scythe wielder.
The community needs to temper themselves and remember Yoshi-p is going to Yoshi-p, so lets just be pleasantly surprised no matter what it is.

It's two different things and by a margin.
Viera were promised and it was revealed that it would only be half the race, the other half being male Hrothgar which i don't think many asked for.
The DNC situation wasn't DNC itself, it was the community expecting a new healer because SB had 2 DPS. And DNC being a supportive job in most FF.
The announcement was also at the time they announced Viera female only and BLU being a limited job. On top of that, there was very accurate leaks which raised people expectation but that's another subject.
Viera were a promise half-filled, Dancer was a logical expectation. They failed to communicate so the community expectation would be set to a certain target.

As for the Scythe Wielder? If it's not then what? You won't see anyone whine about not getting a Scythe Wielder, we might see a very small group being disappointed. Next DPS being a Reaper is a theory as solid as water, we don't have proof.
But for now, the promise is a melee DPS using Dragoon Armors and the hints are those two shirts.

Eh... there's been demand for a scythe user and/or necro for literal years now. People exploded when the Heroes Gauntlet had a Necro pseudo warrior of light as a boss. People have convinced themselves they've seen a scythe leaning on Zenos' throne (even though if Zenos does get a scythe, which is unconfirmed, it has no connection at all with whether or not the player will get one). People have convinced themselves that YoshiP's shirts* confirm a scythe/necro. People have even continued to try to puzzle out just how a melee DPS necro will work because they just can't give up on the new class being a necro (especially if it uses a scythe!!1!). Sure nothing has actually been directly stated/promised but to say it's just a small group of mildly disappointed people I think that's a pretty deliberate undersell. Maybe it's not a majority, but there's definitely a large portion of people who have convinced themselves we're getting a scythe user regardless of what the devs have said/done.

* Note that everyone keeps saying Two Shirts but the Children of Bodom shirt was NOT worn during the Expansion reveal. It was worn during the 5.5 Live Letter. Again, people have convinced themselves the two are connected when they aren't necessarily connected at all.

I agree. When Yoshi-p wore the Children of Bodom shirt it was about a month after the guitarist Alexi Laiho had passed away. This could easily be Yoshi-p representing as a fan of the band because it is not an expansion event. The idea that the shirts are linked are highly circumstantial and are probably not linked at all.

That could be right, but personally (you don't have to agree with it) I think Yoshi-P is well aware that anything he wears will be analyzed during the announcements of new expansion content, and yes, technically that last shirt was during a live letter, which we haven't had before, but it was the same day, and he surely knows that if he changes shirts to something so specific, that will be seen as a hint. I don't get the feeling that he wants to throw people off their predictions when it comes to this, since all shirts so far except Samurai has been very obvious, and even with Samurai, he specifically hinted at which of the spider man movies to look for clues, so IMO it wasn't that hard to predict.

In either case, reaper fits both shirts anyways.

The biggest tell IMO though, is still what I mentioned with Ran'jit having completely new weapon animations for his Scythe. Nobody here really thinks they would add animations for that for no reason right? Like, we're talking about a game that doesn't add any new weapon animations at all pretty much except for new jobs. Hammers, for example, are just the same animations as Axes for WAR. The scythe meant nothing story-wise with Ran'jit, so they could've easily just have had him use a sword or something and not have to spend resources on that. Makes no sense to do if they aren't planning to use it for something else. And who really uses a scythe one-handed? Not something you see very often, but Sice from Type-0 does it.

They have tons of npc humanoid enemies with unique animations, so I don't think that plays much of a role.

I'm probably wording it wrong, I don't mean animation for an ability or something, but the way the character holds the weapon and swings the weapon. There's ofc enemies of all kinds that have unique abilities and weapons, but I'm talking about friendly or enemy NPCs that adhere to the same system we as players do.

The Geomantic Sai Taisui have unique bell weapon and casting animations on a humanoid frame in Swallow’s Compass. Just one example off the top of my head.

I dunno man, they make unique animations for all trial/raid bosses wether they're humanoid or not.

My point was that I doubt Yoshi-P would troll us. Would be a first. It would also be a first if the second shirt (Neighborhood) is the only hint, since then it could be anything. All other shirts have either been very obvious, or in the case of spiderman shirt, been pretty obvious once you look at the alternatives (blue mage from a little blue and him kinda being a spider? please...)

That's just my opinion though, but I can't really theory craft if I would assume the last shirt doesn't matter, because then, like I said, it could be anything.
