Yep just make it capped for each person, instead of for the whole server.

Yep just make it capped for each person, instead of for the whole server.

Common sense dictates on a normal server with thousands of players and an absurdly low cap the average person will be lucky to get 1 turn in. Who's trying to benefit the company? RP'ers? No one gives a shit.Common sense dictates more people doing something = higher chance of something hitting capacity....wasn't the goal to have people playing this game and people complaining about "low population"? This isn't something that's meant for everyone on a person by person basis to benefit from, it's overall trying to benefit the company.
This is similar to 11 where the vendors had limited items to buy per day and people swarmed over it in a matter of minutes. The fact that the cooldown for supplying is a week indicates this isn't something that's meant to be completed 2 minutes after the reset.
Randomize it or bring in personal quotas.
I'm thinking personal quotas and completely randomized requests taken from all possible gathered items and recipes unless stupidly rare, balanced to make them possible at the same rate (seals or time) as GC leves

They should just change it so that once the quota is reached for an item, that item is replaced with a different item, and so on and so forth. That appeases those asking for you to not get rid of the server-wide quotas, but it also assures that there will always be something open to turn in.
I'm starting to regret having made the GC spreadsheet.
/nod when you show to everyone which stock will raise tomorrow that means no money for you.
should keep as self secret ^^:::: well and email me the secret at IwannaBeRichToo@somethingDOTcom

I think we really need more ways to earn more seals. Great post but casual players should get casual rewards. If you want more out of the game you should put more in it.

I agree, more ways to get seals is very much needed. I also agree that a casual player should not get as many seals. As stated somewhere above, Joe Hardcore will fish 10, 12 hours a day and get enough fish to get a whole pile of seals, while Joe Casual will only be able to fish a little bit and hand in what he has for some seals. With the current system though, Joe Hardcore gets a few seals if he's lucky enough, and Joe Casual gets nothing. The issue isn't so much in the casual vs. hardcore gameplay - I regret having brought it up in my original post now - and is more in the fact that no matter what style of gamer you are, with the current system everyone has about 10 seconds to hand in what they can, as fast as they can. It then comes down to an issue of latency for who gets what in.
I won't repeat any more of what's been said in the thread because there have been some brilliant points made and even better ideas than what I proposed originally. I'm honestly surprised at the amount of support this thread has been getting, since us gatherers are sorta looked down on. The criticisms have even been civil and well thought out, so this is fun. Hopefully the mods will take notice.

Agree with OP. Current system sucks. Please introduce personal limits so we can all get seals. I only play 7-11 PM EST Monday-Thursday and rarely on weekends, therefore I miss the starts all the time.
P.S. while you at it, please make it easier to get seals... overall! (especially solo)

But in this case we have players who put the exact same effort into getting the exact same items and they are only losing a one-in-a-week chance because they didn't log on at one exact time and / or weren't able to spam enter fast enough. This, as others have pointed already, doesn't even boils down to whatever "casual" or "hardcore" notion anyone has.
This is somehow even worse than XI botclaim wars, at least those were for something truly useful and meaningful.
The only "reasonable" argument for the current system is that it promotes "competition". But if anyone's idea of healthy and meaningful "competition" is "whoever presses enter fast enough on sunday mornings gets a few company seals", said guy really need to get his head checked.
