Question about an FC and House I now own.

To be clear, no one has ever been banned for selling an FC and documented it.

With an FC, you are conferring leadership to someone. An FC is yours to sell or give away.

The sale type that can lead to bans is selling plots. If you say "my FC doesn't want this house, I'll demolish it into an empty plot, if you pay me" that is a brand of griefing since you cannot give them the plot, you are simply offering to release it back to the server, where the player can buy it themselves.

edit: here is what a ban for selling houses looks like. As you can see, the person was selling a plot, not an FC.

It is nor permitted to sell property for more than what is worth regarding housing, what they do on reddit they can get smacked for badly, if discovered or reported in by the buyer for having over charged its worth.

Again, the rule you describe is for plots. Not for FCs. Do not spread misinformation.

Housing is hard to learn about, because the resources don't say much. If the player base starts spreading misinformation, we're in a world of hurt.

You can make anyone the leader or your FC for any reason.

Offering to demolish+relinquish a home for money is reportable (see the video I linked above) and I imagine this is what you are thinking of. But it does not apply if the OP simply confers the FC leadership onto someone. Jojoya is right and the only objection anyone anywhere will have to selling an FC is a moral/fairness issue.

Selling Plot or FC leadership sounds pretty much the same thing. Both lines your pockets with a hefty profit and makes use of something that developers did not intend and cheats the system/community. Getting caught lining your pockets at either one I think SE would pretty much frown upon it. Now giving it to someone without benefit is ok. These are the very loopholes SE is trying to put the brakes on, so be wary.

Did you read what I said? I wouldn't have said they were different if they were the same.

How to confer a plot: Abandon the plot back to the server (where it belongs to no one) and then another person purchases it from the game. This is considered griefing since you intended to relinquish the plot but instead extorted a player.
How to confer an FC: Give leadership of your FC to someone. This is considered pressing a button in the game.

So an FC you own and can transfer, a plot is merely tied to your character and cannot be transferred, only surrendered. Have I cleared it up for you?
