I would have thrown my controller and flipped a table.... 3 star in ARR was Dark Souls punishing.

I know I've been through my share of disconnections while crafting end game items, it's frustrating but not the end of the world. Hopefully it won't happen to you again. Glad you were able to get it made with the extra materials you bought.
I know... that's the only issue I see that they can't "change" it. Because, it can and WILL be abused.

That said, I do prefer if they adopted the mobile game method of "saving" your progress. I may not like mobile games, but they do have some good ideas. Especially in the event of a disconnection or game crash.

It's been so long since the old ARR days of crafting, I forgot how annoying it was to do some crafting. I got my crafts all to 50 at the time so I can just meld my Materia and then it had you extract Materia that destroyed your gear... making getting Materias very rare and difficult compared to now.

Also, a LOT of RNG and poor skills. I have to look back on some old videos on 2.0 - 4.0 crafting before the changes. I kinda forgot how it was at the beginning now.

While a pause function would likely work without being abusable, it's probably not possible for the same reason the vast majority of QoL changes aren't possible in this game. The coding can't handle it.

What if a DC just results in NQ product? That won't need any "saves", and can't be abused, right? And it'll be a lot better than losing everything.

Well, I did remember the feelings I had... It was old times when I literally had less than 1 million gil in total, and back then a few millions was like a few hundred millions these days. I was so shocked and stunned, that both my hands literally suddenly turned cold (I guess something happened to my blood flow?), and I couldn't breathe for a short period of time. Only after that shocking period, then I started to fret, and tried to think what I could do to amend the situation. >_<

Just imagine yourself handling an item worth more than your total bank amount, and it didn't just go NQ, but was a COMPLETE LOSS. That was my experience. There was literally "no energy to flip a table"...

I just remember that NOTHING was guaranteed in 2.0 like it is now in 5.0. There weren't many 100% skills. There was 70 and 80% skills. Something as simple we take for granted now like "Groundwork" would have been 25% chance of success in 2.0.

My largest loss I ever had was 375k. I felt ill after it blew up in my face. Like I could not believe what just happened as I sat there in shock. 2.0 crafting wasn't for the feint of heart...or the poor.

I to felt that 1mil in 2.0 was a lot of money. I think I could only muster up 1.3mil by the end of 2.0. Heavensward was just as difficult with crafting with collectables and scrips.
