Roleplay/Partyfinder Discrepancies & Policy Enforcement by GM's

I am a almost fulltime roleplayer since HW and actually i support this ban (not of players obviously nobody should be banned for this directly) of rp stuff off the PF. At least how they are atm, on my time at NA i almost always saw just brothers and nightclubs and 18+ 18+ 18+ stuff. If that is everything your RP is about and you want to advertise for i personally won't cry a tear for SE wiping the PF Tool clean again.

But then ofc there are a few people who are actually invested into the hobby and not only in cybersex and lewd things. They could do what EU does since day one. Have a giant discord or two with all the roleplayers, a wiki with a rp calendar and every week the calendar gets postet into the discords. We over here don't even use the pf, our pf is always clear of rp stuff cause we managed to don't rely on it. So maybe it is time for NA to do the same and for the good rp projects to leave the erp partyfinder swamp.

I interpreted that forum as being for feedback related to localization (issues with the translation from japanese to english), but I can sort of see how it can be interpreted as feedback on support that was given.

Just posting here to make my voice heard. I find that using PF to recruit for FCs/RP is WAY more preferable to using shout. As an avid roleplayer, and an FC leader I do enjoy seeing people recruiting others BUT shout spam can make it very difficult to do anything else. PF is WAY less intrusive and allows recruiting to happen without clogging the chat window. GMs, please hear this and do not make this a crime.

This is absolutely ridiculous... the GM is clearly out of line. RP venues have been around for such a long time and the fellowship finder is honestly not that great. I've had no problems looking into the PF and actually finding venues I can go to and enjoy a great time writing and socializing with others. It really would be nice if they finally officially supported roleplayers and made a proper tab of some sort.

That's not to say the amount of +18 nsfw venues, or the repeated venues by multiple people to advertise isn't annoying either. So many times I've scrolled through the other list there is 1 place listed by multiple people just to get it out there. Though I'd rather the obvious RMT clear sellers be dealt with already over something like this.

I am very upset about this action that Square Enix has taken against many players in the roleplaying community. I want to say first of all that the players were not jailed and warned (and at least in one case suspended) because they were engaging in erotic roleplaying or subjecting minors to adult themes or content. The GM stated in these confrontations that the players were receiving disciplinary action for misusing the party finder: they weren't using it to run "content."

This makes absolutely no sense and is contradictory. What constitutes "content?" Is it just the things listed in the other tabs of the Party Finder? In that case, why have an "Other" section? Will I get jailed if I put up a recruitment message asking players to gather to gpose with me? Will I get jailed if I make a recruitment message to invite people to come enjoy a performance concert? Will I get jailed if I put up a recruitment message asking people to come check out my house that I just decorated? What if my FC wants to have a seasonal event for Halloween or Valentine's? Am I not allowed to post a message inviting the community to come partake?

A large part of the game is based around furnishing and housing. Even the high-end raids give rewards that allow us to craft special furnishing items to put in our houses. We were recently given the ability to tag our houses as venues, and we even got exterior housing designs that allow us to make our houses look like shops and other types of themed locations. How is that not "content?"

What irks me the most is that the people getting jailed are people who put a ton of their own personal time and care into creating roleplaying "content" that could never be otherwise available. It takes so much coordination to put together a staff and set up an immersive experience for people to enjoy in what is clearly advertised as a "roleplaying game."

Just look at the main FFXIV page that is designed to sell the game to new players:







A big draw is that people can create a virtual character and roleplay as that character. A large portion of the game--from glamour to housing to emotes--is geared towards facilitating that.

I sincerely hope that Square Enix makes an apology to the roleplaying community and takes some steps to clarify what is and is not breaking the terms of service so that we can play the game without worrying about whether we will be jailed, suspended, or permanently banned. There shouldn't be room to interpret these things loosely, especially when the people who are being targeted clearly put a lot of love and care into this game.

I don't think this is acceptable policy. While it might be applicable to explicit content, and that is a valid concern, there's a variety of roleplay and other social activities that are entirely worthy of promoting and which the PF can even help folks find people interested in... forming a party to do.

This include things like actors putting on live events, establishments looking for new people to get involved and even folks with fun story ideas. Those things are just as valid as an other experience you can join into a group for and I believe they should be allowed in PF. Place them into the proper section; use the other tab or else give us a quality of life tag for social events. These things are important aspects of the game. Save punishment for the things that deserve it; don't create a blanket policy that smothers a portion of the fanbase.

I've been a sub for at least two years now, maybe more, and I've never felt a need to log into the main forums or make a post. This actually made me; it's bad rationale for bad moderation. Players deserve better.

SE, if you're going to kick the RPers from the Other tab, then you need to either add an RP Venue/Advert tab or give Fellowship Finder more functionality. PF, as is, literally gives RPs places to go, and RP. It gives a lot of reason for those players to visit player houses, and even use the Cross-World Travel feature. It gives players reasons to buy and use the 100s of different emotes you have in the game. Without a proper replacement, all you're doing right now if kicking a significant away portion of your playerbase.

I do hope that the PF could get a few more tabs to accommodate RP and market options, or at least improve fellowship functionality.

When I have interacted with GMs about my concerns in the past, they have actually directly asked me to provide feedback through the forums.
You can also see other players providing GM feedback. I believe it is fully appropriate to use, but if I am mistaken I'll take it down. I wanted to share a way for people to have their concerns heard by GMs, but I don't mean to abuse the forum categories.

Sure, there are RP Discords. But for some reason quite a few of them are very selective of what they do in NA. Also, and here's a big thing ~sometimes I don't want to join a Discord~. Sometimes I just like looking at the PF and finding some event and going to it. People also use PF to advertise their Discords, so people can RP in the first place.
