The summoning of Zodiark stopped the devastation caused by the keening sound entity. Amaurot suffered from the devastation for a period of time. Herego the sound reached Amaurot before Zodiark was summoned.
Have to wonder if Paladin's sword and shield is a metaphor to Zodiark and Hydaelin as aspects of a singular entity.
And Hingashi is an entire country, but we only went to Kugane in Stormblood. Got to have an introduction zone sometime!

"I thought that my invincible power would hold the world captive, leaving me in a freedom undisturbed. Thus night and day I worked at the chain with huge fires and cruel hard strokes. When at last the work was done and the links were complete and unbreakable, I found that it held me in its grip." - Rabindranath Tagore
This is more to do with the trailer itself, but does anyone else think that the scene with the twins might be in 5.55? Scenes from a previous expansion isn't completely unprecedented, we saw a glimpse of 2.55 in Heavensward's full trailer.
With the quicker pace of 6.0, we might be trying to deal with or at least scout out the towers before that, especially since they seem to cause tempering. The only thing is that Alisaie and Alphinaud would need their job/outfit changes before then too.
Thoughts?
The WoL shows up as a PLD when we see them in the Endwalker trailer. The WoL's job has never changed prior to an expansion, only at the start of each expansion, so I think it takes place shortly into Endwalker, likely after we visit Sharlayan. I believe the Sage class to be Alphinaud busting out Sharlayan's forbidden knowledge/tech.This is more to do with the trailer itself, but does anyone else think that the scene with the twins might be in 5.55? I'd agree with that, though you could lump that in with "will the twins swap before Endwalker?".The WoL shows up as a PLD when we see them in the Endwalker trailer. There's a possibility. Alisaie did start using a sword near the end of 3.4 (vs Ardbert's crew), but only in heavily-scripted scenes due to the lack of actual animations and Job effects. But when she got her RDM rapier in 4.0 (just before departing to Hingashi, if I recall), the general sentiment among the playerbase was "yeah, that makes sense".
So for Alphinaud's case, I would not be surprised if he talked about maybe upgrading to something from Sharlayan (since I also think the Sage Nouliths are very Sharlayan), and maybe showing a very rough approximation of it in another scripted scene, but at the very least he could be making preparations to switch (eg contacting Sharlayan) as of 5.5, and we'll actually see him use it in battles and Trusts in 6.0.
lots of folks seem to be holding out for Sharlayan being the big city... I'm still on the fence it being there, I have a hunch its somewhere we've not heard of before like a surprise by the dev team like how they brought Dalmasca into the world from a previous Final fantasy game but slightly different under garlean occupation.
I have no doubts it is. The story will end with either them being fused together, or both being taken out of the picture while a new Will of the Planet takes their place. If there's a new will, I have a feeling it'll be G'raha Tia, since he has already been heavily attuned with a powerful Crystal and has amassed a large amount of knowledge from it. If anybody would fit the bill, it'd be him. Not to mention there'd be a type of poetry to it, since Eternal Wind is essentially his theme.
Do you think the Solus clones that Emet had created for spare bodies that were mentioned near the end of Stormblood will play any role? I don't think anything has come of that yet.
I'd like it if somehow Varis found his way into one. Maybe he performed the artificial Echo-ization experiments on himself off-screen.
