From what I see they're not calling you out for not liking the story, but either thinking you're a troll because your initial post is written like bait and theyve found you contradicted yourself.

The fact you've jumped to the conclusion people are fanboys who can't accept people disliking the story tells me all we really need to know. Im guilty of skipping every scene where the two gay siblings appear. I cant stand them, there are so many other cool characters that could fill their place. But no SE must ruin every expansion with them instead of continuing using characters from previous expansions.

I dislike the story because i find it incredibly boring. I mean it is a snoozefest. even shadowbringers. I skipped everything. every cutscene.

I enjoy the gameplay and MMO atmosphere. People need to stop with this "omg youre skipping story in a FF game HOW DARE YOU, im going after you and your family!!"

I enjoy the games gameplay, design, music, zones. every MMO aspect of it. I dont need the story and i am having a blast without falling asleep.

Please let people play how they want and stop insulting them for not liking the story.

Firmly agreed, OP.

I used to like the story but have begun tuning out recently due to the amount of focus placed on the likes of Zenos, Alisae and G'raha. I think it's fine if there's players who play FFXIV due to the PvE, PvP and other features. I'm hoping the development team use 6.0 to retire or kill off a decent amount of the current cast of characters in favour of injecting some fresh blood into the game's narrative. Variety is the spice of life after all and when every major character shares the same goals and beliefs it makes for a rather bland fantasy world.

I feel that since they stated the current story will be finished with 6.0, and the new story start with 6.1(from the showcase they did earlier this month), we will be getting some new cast members. Though I feel that most of the scions(at least any that survive the end of this next part) will be a part of the story still, I'm hoping they play a slightly lesser role and new faces be brought in.

As for the villains...I sure hope Zenos stays dead this time...and his essence scattered to the billions of stars in the night sky never to be united again(same with the little shit who destroyed the Royal Menagerie...I want to take screenshots there again!)
