No offence mate but I now have no doubt you said something offensive to get there. People only complain about "cancel culture" when they know the stuff they do would get them in trouble. I don't fear cancel culture because I understand how to behave around other people. It's not unlike men claiming they can't even talk to women lest they get "#MeToo'd", which really just says they don't understand how to treat women with respect.
However, I highly recommend you read the page for Prohibited Behaviour in Final Fantasy XIV. I understand that some parts may be vague, but it's to allow them to use their discretion when applying disciplinary actions. If you're not sure if something is safe to say, don't say it. What's that one line from Bambi? "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"?

I disagree with your assumption. Cancel culture is an actual problem in our culture. It has no room for forgiveness and redemption. Real people who want to grow and change are denied that change, and basically told to die on the rock they got stuck on.
In reality it is rare when a person's behavior or opinions become so dangerous that they have to be canceled. The American political system I think we can all agree is a great example. Without getting into an out of topic argument, I just want to say that many people who were committing crimes deserve 100% what is coming to them, but something someone said who has absolutely no political power, or any impact in the world? I don't think that is nearly justified. For the record I know for a fact I haven't gone on any rants or said anything about any minorities. I am LGBT myself, so I'm highly doubtful I was saying anything non PC, but again times have changed and our internet culture is incredibly sensitive these days. Could of been something I said for all I know.
That's a weak defence and you know it. "Some people are sensitive" is not a defence. I don't know why you brought up American politics like everyone you encounter is American or gives a crap, and I still wouldn't trust you any further than I can throw you with how quickly you waved the "cancel culture flag".I disagree with your assumption. I gave you advice on what to do to avoid it happening again. If you just want to play the victim and act like people are just on some witch hunt to "cancel" you, then you're on your own. They brought you there for a reason, I suggest you take measures to avoid doing it again. It's not hard, even if you don't know what you did this time. Read the link I posted and think about it for a while.
P.S. I'm also LGBT, and that doesn't make you immune to being a total scumbag to other people. Don't use that as a shield, it makes the rest of us look bad.
Sorry you got put in there. I do think SE should atleast divulge the context of what gets certain folks put in to GM jail.
I've never personally been in there, but I have had a 3 day ban on the forums for mildly calling out someone else's rude behaviour. Did I deserve it, well probably. But only assuming the other person also got hit with a 3day ban for their own callous behavior. I wont go into details, but Ive seen far worse on the forums to be honest, but the moment you use someone's "username" or directly "quote" them its potentially damning on you.
While you may or may not know what got you jailed, just be happy your out and not banned at the very minimum. I doubt SE will change this practice. Try to put it behind you and move on.
Its been several years since my 3 day forum ban and while I see the ridiculous and rude behaviors continue on the official forums, nothing has ever been done to change it really...
I've just learned to not directly confront someone on here for it.
People really seem to love acting like SE's system is flawless and that anyone who makes a topic like this is playing dumb and knows exactly what they did wrong.
I don't think these topics would show up so often if that were actually the case.
I have stressed this OVER and OVER on these forums. Don't say ANYTHING in game, and if you do KEEP IT G-RATED! I have not yet had a single GM interaction in all the years I've been playing, by being paranoid. It's not worth it...
So again considering different sensitivity levels, how am I supposed to know if they don't specify. Literally ANYTHING can be taken as offensive these days. Cancel culture is incredibly rampant, and being vague doesn't help. I do not know what I did to get me in trouble. I have absolutely no idea, so I ask that you please stop acting like I do know.
Also, I think that word is a swear word too... I won't use it here on the forums or in-game.![]()

The thing is, every case of reporting has to be reviewed by a GM who determines if the report is valid or not before they chuck you in the Mordion gaol. people can be offended by whatever they want, but the GM also has to agree with why they were offended. I could be offended by anyone who mentions the word 'snow', but its extremely unlikely a GM would ever take a report like that seriously.how am I supposed to know if they don't specify. So whatever you said was seen as offensive by not just a player but also the GM reviewing your case. It's as I said before; don't insult others, don't use bad words or any word that could be potentially discerned as a bad word (like your example), and you'll be fine. If you can't figure out a way to re-write whatever you're about to send to not include any bad language or dubiously bad language, don't send it at all.
Square's customer service ain't the best, but if you end up in the Mordion gaol for 'bad language', there's an extremely high chance you were there for saying something actually bad rather than a guy getting offended over you mentioning the cake isn't real.

You definitely said this better than I did. A report doesn't mean someone will automatically get banned, even if a bunch of people gang up and all report the same person. Unless they actually did something (which the GM would be able to access logs of), then nothing would come of it. This is not another casualty of cancel culture, it's a GM agreeing with the report and taking action. The thing is, every case of reporting has to be reviewed by a GM who determines if the report is valid or not before they chuck you in the Mordion gaol. people can be offended by whatever they want, but the GM also has to agree with why they were offended. "Everything is offensive, #cancelculture" is only ever used by people who are taken to task for being knowingly, deliberately offensive.
I was on your side, but nah. You know what you did.
I give up with you people. Forum community is absolutely unhinged. Imagine joining my alt's FC just to wait for me to come online to harass me lmao.
