If raiders are "pretty universally disappointed" by Shadowbringers, then that means Square needs to do better. Same with PVPers.

Everyone can enjoy the story. The various types of players need to be satisfied with the game, though, not exclusively story-only players.

For real! If FFXIV had good PvP, dedicated more resources and time to it. I would be in heaven. It would be the perfect game. Literally the only reason I even bought WoW late in Legion was for PvP! I made me a priest healer, and just sat and did lowbie PvP. That's all I did! While I think/thought WoW's PvP, the rest of the game doesn't pull me in - granted I didn't really try. This game pulls me in, but the PvP is in such a sad state..

While I have never really a PvE player, I can relate..

I'm a rather big fan of examining the past track record and basing my stance off of that rather than the fluffy commentary put out in carefully managed interviews. Much like how I don't put much weight in the generic templates that large corporations put out whenever they want to comment on world events.

My core point, however, was that they acknowledged that gender locked playable races were a problem and took steps to reverse them. They then added one full playable race to the game in the form of Au Ra. Then, with Shadowbringers they took a step backwards and devolved to a pro-gender lock stance.

Well it's clear which content is more popular. When a even patch drops and savage content gets released, what gets more views on twitch? The story content or the savage race?

Answer's pretty obvious here. There's a reason no one watches another person do the story on twitch, it's boring. The story isn't even good.

That's because everyone does the MSQ. Savage content though is a novelty or a No for most players so a lot that don't have the time or not at that skill level can watch it elsewhere.

Prettymuch. I'd never watch story content on YouTube because I'm going to play it for myself with my own character. If I need to review it, there's either cutscenes in the Unending Journey or script on Garland Tools.

I'm not interested in participating in Ultimate but I might look up a video of what it's like.

Considering we show what happens to an mmorpg when the devs focus on a tiny minority at the expense of the majority in WoW, I think SE has made the right decision, not only for most of its players but also for the sake of the community.

WoW community is one of the most toxic communities out there rivaling LoL, the amount of tryhardism and metaslaves trying to tell others how to play even outside mythic is enormous which makes it extremely new player/casual unfriendly

Shadowlands is a disaster for casuals exactly because they ignored all casual content and went full force into tryhard content to the point casuals are leaving in droves, but it is a good thing at the end for me since I discovered this game from many threads that kept suggesting it and saying it treats casuals decently, though Hrothgar definitely helped xD

??? Where did I say Square doesn't need to do better? I said the pandemic hit everyone like a truck, things had to be sacrificed to keep even a moderately smooth game running. I'm literally only talking about majority here. Who is going to be selling their game, hyping the game, reviewing the game en masse? Not the 10000 ultimate raiders in the existence of planet earth, that what. Obviously a business would focus on the majority here, when they have to downsize due to production issues.

Do I want them to focus on improvements when it's humane to do so? Of course I do. But you people seem to really have lost touch with the fact that there are humans making this game who may have had family members die, may have gotten sick themselves, and are impacted by this pandemic.

You're putting words in my mouth. Pandemic has caused issues, yes, but production issues are an aside to Shadowbringers being a slow walk as a whole compared to Stormblood or Heavensward.

This was true before the pandemic, just as it's true now. The pandemic only slowed things down further.

Perhaps they've devoted their time to FFXVI instead, but Ultimate is only one feature delayed (and for the purposes of Shadowbringers, canceled.) Endwalker's looking like Shadowbringers 2.0, in terms of stuff they mentioned they wanted to do but didn't get around to in shadowbringers; I've yet to see much system-level that wasn't mentioned in a Shadowbringers interview. That includes private gardens, stat squish, belt removal, among other things.

They're severely backlogged, and I'm not sure of the cause. It isn't entirely down to the pandemic, though, since they were behind from the start of Shadowbringers.

You are clearly trolling and/or over the top bitter in a bad Drama Queen way of "those evil, evil cashuals ruining muh gaem. Me r totally innocant". Let it put me for you in very simple terms: No side is better or worse than the other. Toxcity exsists on both sides of the spectrum. Stop blaming and victimzing the sides as you see it fit for your narration. Of course there are toxcial casuals. Call the media or not as that is not a shocking twist of events. And vice versa.

I personally have never touched ultimates and have zero interest even in the extreme trials, so for me even something as silly as “FarmVille” is both fresh and interesting.

I’m only interested in story, and am not interested in endgame content in the slightest, so I for one do not match this description of “everyone skipping cutscenes and not caring about the story”.

That said I do watch YouTube videos of other people doing it on the odd chance something interesting happens. I don’t watch MSQ because, duh, I do it myself.

OP is a well known forum troll. And stirring up the forum is likely the only reason why this topic exists. Saying they should remove this content so we can get more of that content is just an too easy way to make sure a lot of drama will happen.
